Disc or Download?

I know the servers were screwed up - but can you still d/l the game or are the servers jacked for that too?

I think disc is a much faster way to get going, since the download of the actual game takes hours.

As for the server issue, I think that has mostly been resolved, but that shouldn't have an impact on downloading the game even if they were jacked.

I downloaded a couple of days ago. We'll see how long the update takes when I get home.

I have the retail box copy but i'm hoping I can download it from my account page once it's all registered.   I have starcraft, diablo 2 and warcraft, the old originals that I bought boxed copies of available to download so i can play them discless.  Hoping i can do the same with Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 .  I hate having to bring discs with me to play games on my laptop.

I think you can download the client right now TANK, even if you haven't bought it yet. You won't be able to play until you purchase an online key, or enter the key from your boxed copy though.

I'm pretty sure you won't need the disc in the tray to play. This game only works online, so you'll be authenticated that way.

++++++++++

As to disc vs. download, I chose to buy the disc this time. As long as they are the same price I will always buy the physical media. They need to lower the direct download price a bit, or include some bonus items in order for me to buy the digital copy.

I installed the disc on my laptop, took damn near an hour !!!  Glad xbox installs don't take that long.   Anyway I can at least get to the login screen without needing the disc in the drive, so it looks like the disc is just install media, not a playable media.

I'm more agreeable to digital downloads for PC games but absolutly refuse to spend $60 on a console title and not get the physical packaging.
