Diablo II to Diablo III evolution

IGN's done a good video that compares how stuff worked in D2 and how it's evolved in D3

I was reading somewhere else about this. They're doing away with that fight, town, fight thing. You'll get 2 items, some sort of cauldron and that horadric cube that let you convert your loot to gold on the spot or convert them into parts for crafting later. I can't wait for this game, just wish they'd get off the damn point and click movement. This isn't the 90s anymore.

I'm just hoping this comes to this generation of consoles.

There's been rumors.... I think that would kick ass to get in a Live Pary of 4 and go looting.

May 15th is when Battle.net unlocks my pre-download of D3... I have like 7 gigs of awesomeness on my HDD that's under lockdown. It's hard to hate Blizzard, but right now they're not my friends.

I was very surprised this morning to get an invitation to the Diablo III beta. I'll be planning on writing my thoughts on it once I get some time to play. Haven't downloaded and read the terms yet, so there's a chance I may not be able to release an article. But if that's the case, I'll at least post my thoughts on the forum.

Don't know if this is a big deal for anyone, but D3 will not have an offline mode. You will need to be connected to the internet at all times to play even the single player campaign.

Doesn't surprise me too much, Taco. Starcraft II went that direction too. Can't say I'm super excited for that, but understand it.

I have not yet had a chance to play since I've been at work,  but I currently downloading the beta. It's going to be a lengthy one- almost 4 Gigs. I read the terms of the beta and looks like my "review" is safe to publish. I'm also going to do my best to update from time to time my thoughts. I'll make a new thread on it.

Word to the wise- for any interested in getting this game and opting for the digital download- pre-order and start downloading NOW. It will take you a loooong time but can get it out of the way now and you'll be all set to go when the game is released on May 15th. Cannot recommend that enough!

This thread reminds me I haven't touched the D3 beta in like 2 months now :(

I have only played through the demo with one of the classes so far, and I did enjoy the game.

Weird, I don't recall having items to convert my gear to gold or crafting items with my character. But, glad that is supposed to be there, cause I have found it annoying having to go back to town (thankfully the town portal spell is now always on you and you don't need to save a bunch of scrolls for it!)

Really .... you have to have an internet connection to play Diablo 3?   WTf man.. that's some bullshit.  I play PC games mostly when i travel like sitting in airports, on the plane, in hotel rooms where you may or may not have good interent.  That's just some BS.

Guess i'll wait for the pirated version then, pirates always get rid of that stupid shit and make the games work properly.

It's the same with me. If I'm home with internet, I'm on my xbox playing stuff. Couple PC games I've got are for when the internet is down or I'm somewhere else. Apparently the reason they don't want to let you play offline is because if you do that, then you'd have to start a new character for multiplayer cause you might have cheated. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/01/diablo-3-cannot-be-played-offline/

Read somewhere else most of the information is going to be server side so even if you pirate the game and crack it it won't work. It's not a big deal for some, but for me this kills any interest I had in it. Getting tired of companies telling me what I can't do with my games. If I buy a game and decide to take it with me when I go camping I should be able to play it.
