He's supposed to be John Blake, a cop working under Commissioner Gordon. He was a bit player in some of the comics.

I saw this this morning and I can't wait to see this one. If there is one movie this summer, it's gotta be this.

Anyone else thinking that Nolan may go the Knightfall storyline? That's what I'm thinking.

Reviews are in and are off the charts. 100% at rotten tomatoes except one douche that gave good reviews to Spiderman new movie and Men In Black 3, said Dark Knight at momments had too much action. Flaming has begun in his comment section.

But everyone else is unanimous that its truly a really good movie.

Spoiler ***** Sort of..

They mention that every mistake Bruce Wayne has made in the previous Batman's come back to haunt him in this one.

You liked Val Kilmer better? George Clooney?  I'd say Bale is second behind Keaton

Too bad neither of the other two movies are on NEtflix yet... might have been cool to do a 2o2p batman viewing party and watch the other two movies.  Damn you netflix.

Bale is scum of the earth as a human being but I think he kicks ass as Batman.

This, couldn't agree more. Saw it at midnight release. Awesome movie and a great end to the trilogy. I won't spoil it but I will say the movie did have surprises. Wasn't sure about why they needed to add a Catwoman character, but they made it work. Highly recommend seeing it in the theaters, it's worth it.

It's a shame about Colorado. Crazy to think that all those people wanted was to see a movie just like me and my friends, but some crazy freaking psycho decided he wanted to "make a statement" or some other bullshit. The guy apparently went so far as to boobytrap his apartment. I don't get this whole idea of taking people with you. If you wanna die, kill yourself, don't ruin a stranger's life too. Selfish bastards.

Oh, and just a note: It is a long movie. I avoided reading anything before going to see it, which meant I missed that it was almost 3 hours long. Got to bed around 4am, lol.

Bale tries too fucking hard - it's painful to watch....actually don't mind him as an actor in some other things....but it's like watching Toby McGuire as Peter Parker - just terrible.

Going to go see it tomorrow, and my sister Beth and the rest of the cast and crew from The Dark Knight Rises are absolutely devastated and enraged by the events that transpired in Aurora, Colorado (she works on the set designs and props for movies)

They are really upset to hear that James Holmes was proclaiming himself as "The Real Joker", she called me last night long distance, and asked "My god Ken, we make these movies to entertain people not to help create monsters, WTF is wrong with society???"  Unfortunately there will be debates about how dark Superhero movies should be, but from the sounds of things this guy was extremely disturbed, very sad chain of events and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims of this senseless act of violence.

I plan on enjoying the movie tomorrow and look forward to see how Christopher Nolan wraps up his Batman Trilogy, I only hope that Warner Brothers doesn't decide to totally re-boot it all over again, I know Nolan and Bale are done, but ther's no reason another great director and come in and continue staying in Nolan's universe of the character, but of course there are others that would like to see another take on Villains such as Penguin, Mr. Freeze, etc; without producing such garbage as Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

Went and saw it on Sunday in IMAX, I enjoyed it; however there were times when I thought it dragged a little bit, also why did people expect to see the comic book version of Bane on the big screen when Christopher Nolan has always grounded his Batman Trilogy in reality, so Bane wasn't going to Hulk out, instead he was breathing an aerisol gas that prevented him from feeling any physical pain, because his body was in constant tormenting pain, should they had a scene like they did in the Empire Strikes Back where for a brief moment you saw Vader without the helmet on, and instead did the same thing with Nolan's Bane and see what he endured when the mask was completely off???

Now whether or not Warner Bros decides to continue moving forward in this universe is a question I'm sure the fans would like to have answered, but I wouldn't doubt for one minute, that  a few years down the road Batman will be re-booted once again. But all in all I thought the Dark Knight Rises was a good end to Nolan's Trilogy, I'm sure some will say otherwise, but hey you can't please everyone.

I'll put my thoughts on this in a 'spoiler'
With the way it ended , I thought either they're going to do a Batman & Robin movie next or just skip straight to Nightwing.  I think Dick finding the 'batcave' at the very end was a hint of how it's going to continue on.  Otherwise what was the point of that scene.
TANK, I was thinking the same thing,
until I read that character was made just for this movie. That wasn't Dick Grayson or Tim Drake, it was a completely new guy altogether
Put my response in 'spoiler' too, just in case

Saw this today. I'll go ahead and say it; the first two, with the exception of Heath Ledger's performance, were not very good movies. This one made up for a lot of that. Really enjoyed it, even considering it's length. I'm very pleased with how it's capped off the trilogy, ad if they do a reboot without continuing in this universe, I'd be totally fine with that. Sometimes, the best stories end in the viewer's imagination.

Those insisting that they want to knwo what happens next remind me of watching Good WIll Hunting with my sister, when I was younger. The final scene of Will Driving down the highway in his car wasn't good enough for her. She wanted to know what happened after that. Do the lovebirds get married? How does that go? Do they have children? What do they turn out like? Point is, when is ok for the movie, or, in this case, the series of movies, to end? Leave it, it ended just fine.

I may be wrong (and I'm too lazy to look it up) but didn't Christopher Nolan initially refuse to do The Dark Knight? I'm happy he did, and I thought DKR was even better, but I don't want to see this franchise beat into the ground like 15-18 years ago. Holy crap I feel old.

I have enough faith in Nolan that he won't continue the story, but could anybody continue it without his help? Or, rather, could they continue it without it sucking horribly?

Nolan didn't want to do this movie, The Dark Knight Rises. WB backed up the Brinks truck, told him if he would do it, they'd allow him to do any movie he'd want to first. So, he did Inception, with almost an unlimited budget, and now did TDKR to fulfill his end of the deal.
