I really want to see the hightlights too, because one minute Kurupt is a good 1 second behind me, the next he is passing me and helios like we have our parking brakes on. I just look up and this black and yellow audi is filling up my rearview mirror and I have no choice but to move out of the way, otherwise he is just going to drive through me. No idea where he got all that speed from and all I could do was laugh.
Hehe I just got a crazy run out of that last long right even I was surprised when I caught up to you guys and tried making it 3 wide into the chicane but couldn't make it stick....pretty sure I gave both spots back but got lucky on the next few laps when Helios went wide on the chicane and you over shot turn 2....had a blast both races in race 1 church and I were going balls to the wall it was just a matter of time until one of us screwed up...as church put it " we were smashing curbs and kicking them in the face" lol unfortunately I fell victim to the chicane twice and had to watch him drive off in the distant so I settled with 2nd. Iam a little choked we didn't see Boza post prior to race start would have been great to have him!
Tartan_Special not appealing Thruxton race 2 incident.
KX Momentum racing's Tartan_special has told autosport.com that he has chosen not to appeal against an incident with CProRacing during the later stages of the second BTCC race at Thruxton.
"It was more of a FWD vs RWD kind of incident, my car started to drift out of the apex and was not sure of where he (CProRacing) was and I ended up being collected by his front end which in turn spun the car"
"I was lucky to catch the slide and keep going to maintain 2nd but things could have been alot worse"
When asked on his first season in the BTCC he commented "It's been great! And currently sitting 2nd in the championship is far greater than what I was hoping to achieve"
No idea why but I am having problems with this track, I am being eaten alive by the AI and can't set up the Focus right at all. Frustrating as I had Thruxton beat and could have done well there, but think I am in all kinds of trouble here. Ah well, looking forward to it none the less.
@ church ya it's unfortunate I have the correct version but it was causing mismatches :( it seems all my favorite series are cursed (dtm/btcc) due to licensing....who ever creates a game that's focuses strictly touring cars will be praised apon by myself.
@ knight ill have a go at your focus and see what I can come up with. This mod isn't the greatest but fills my addiction and allows me to race with you guys :)
from what I've gathered from this mod is a few things and found some tweaks that have helped
1. Tire scrubbing sound lacks so I tweaked that line in the plr. Info can be found on page 1
2. Steering response was slow so I increased the steering rate from 20 to 40-50 in controller options
3. The base tunes are quit soft and unresponsive...I increased the front spring 3-5 clicks and the rear 1 more than the front, and increase the rear arb to either max or 1 below....I've also found increasing the the rear down force by 1 helps the cars ass from getting loose in fast tturns after that I run a bunch of laps and evaluate what's lacking like turn in (slow bump rear rebound ) than dial in the tire temps and chamber.
My style compared to others I've noticed is that iam slow on straights, an early breaker that makes up my time carrying as much momentum through the corners. I started left foot breaking and attacking curbs more but it's not quit there yet lol I ve found my breaking and turn in a bit off which leaves accidentally cutting the corner or going wide :(
Cheers Kurupt, this is the first track that seems to need more than the minor tweaks I am confident in making, and I guess that is true to life, drivers often talk of cars not being suited to particular tracks and mechanics struggling to get the car dialed in. I have had a good run so far and was bound to hit a track that neither suits car or driver.
A pure touring car sim would be a day of release buy and no mistake, but the problem is as ISI have found, British track owners are very greedy and ask stupid money for licenses. the same is true of some of the teams. I do know one of my favorite modders in rF2 loves British tracks but as a one man band he can only do so much and is in great demand. But I hope over time he will be producing more.

No worries on the track.
As I use a Joypad to race I need to ensure I have the correct setup on the car. (Around 4 hrs of testing BTW to find it)

You should look into tuning then. In the end it really helps the rest of us..gif "55")
