Board Games

One of the reasons I was so easily abel to sell the bulk of my collection, go budget and play less is that I have been playing more board games with my wife and friends and thus been able to get my geek fix in other ways.

Yep, lots of new rules to learn        99

Been a lot of fun.  Following is a partial list of games we've played and the list we want to play is twice as long!!!  How deep exactly is this rabbit hole?

What games do you all enjoy?

Pandemic,   Eclipse,   Ticket to ride,   Airlines Europe,    Small World,   Dominion,   King of Tokyo,   Wits and Wagers,   Apples to Apples,   Mage Knight,   LOTR (living card game).

"Just one game," they said, and started to play -- that was yesterday. -- Chinese proverb

I used to love board games. But none of the friends I have now seem to like games at all. I been thinking about the local gaming shops where they have beginners night and play different board games. They also have open versions of many games in the back and people can come in and try out what they want. Still, I have no one that really wants to do this with me.

As a kid, I couldn't get enough of Risk. I've always played Pinocle. When I was married we would have friends over & play various stuff. Now I'm just an old guy with a cat and she doen't like to play except at 3:00 am when crazy time arrives. 54

Oh well, my computer never turns me down for a game and there's always drinking.8   I find myself writing just to match these new smileys97

Like this one.....135....hmmm....Nope, got nothin.

I haven't played board games much, but over the years it has been Scrabble, Yahtzee (board game?), Canasta (cards), and I can't even think of any more.  Ahhhh, Monopoly, but that was when I was a kid.  It is nice to go back to the basics, tho, when you want to connect in person.  Some people play poker or other card games.  Board games?  Not very popular with my friends/family.  And Bill?  I've never even heard of any of the games you are playing.  Doh.

I grew up playing board and card games, and have kept at it through the years. Many of them are not what I'd call geek games, but fun none the less:

Scattergories (one of my faves), balderdash, apples to apples, catan, hero quest.

I'll check out some of the ones you mentioned that I haven't played.
