Due to a lack of races on Saturday I'm setting up a BMW M1 Pro Car race next saturday 5/25 at 3pm EST
Cautions-meh. Whatever people want.
Rules-1 Forced pit stop. Tires won't be worn since they are race tires but at least the "when to pit" will add some strategy and realism.
Other rules- Shit happens. If you cause the shit, say you are sorry and try not to do it again. If you got shit on, don't get bent out of shape. It's only a video game.
Only other rule is PLEASE run a retro style race livery. Even if it's a store front paint job that's cool.
The car is an S688 and the build is as follows.

That's the build. If you are lazy like me and don't want to look at the forum while building the car I will post it on my storefront. IT WILL NOT BE TUNED-So only buy it for the build.
Track...TBD but the short list looks like Hockenheim, or Silverstone. The Pro Cars ran at several tracks and only 1 (Hockenheim) is in the game.
I reserve the "right" to change something because I can.
And since this is 1 race and not a series AND IT'S FOR FUN
NO HANDICAPS.

Not sure what times the car is capable of as I'm not very fast, and especially so in S-class.
But I did post a tune on my storefront that was in the 1:57's at Silverstone, and 1:46's at Hockenheim..gif "128")

@Prebuilt - you said next week 5/25? Next week is 5/18. Which one is it? Count me in, either way.

I might tweek the build. It's not a "race in traffic friendly" car. Or I might just say screw it and make taming this thing part of the fun.

I tweaked the build and made it WAY easier to drive IMO.
I'll update the original post later today once I log onto my xbox.
Basically the power is almost the same and so is the PI, BUT I dropped the power with other parts and picked it back up with Race Camshafts. Also, the rear tire diameter is back to stock which makes quite a bit of difference.
I really would like to force off TCS for this race as taming this beast is going to be part of the fun and challenge in tuning. I won't though because I know some of our guys use it prettty regularly.
There's a chance I can make it. Depends on the weather.
The new updated tune/build is on my store front.
PI 677 I think.
This thing isn't point and shoot, but it's not bad. And with some of the hang on and floor it series' lately (Escort, Seat) this should be a nice change of pace.
Did you by chance update the OP with the new build? Also, Have you decided on a track yet?

And I updated the original post just now, BUT buy the storefront tune for the build, because I might be wrong.
I'll double check the build and make sure the OP is up to date. This is a fun/chill race so I'm not going to stress over every detail.
It's a build the car, tune it so it isn't a POS, show up and race kinda event.
The build posted gives me a wrong PI ? I don't see it on your SF. DOH!

For Retro paints go to my storefront, then friends and look for CGC Retro. He was supposed to post a bunch of paints for this car on his storefront for free for this event.
(not sure if he has yet though, Ya'll will have to check)

If anyone built the car early on it is MUCH easier to drive now. Build and a pretty decent tune is on my storefront.
Since the only track in Forza that was on the PROCAR schedule was Hockenheim that is where we are going. Lap count can be discussed and figured out before the race.

I think that this was just a one off event church, just a filler until an actual series starts on saturday, which I think that Drivebye has with the Super GT series.
Ya just something to fill the EST afternoon/8pm slot for you guys.
I'm going to post a build for an S700 Masarati GT late tonight and hopefully we get more guys next week.
