Honestly I have never played anything Funcom or know anything about AOC but the story/missions, the customability and flexibility in your characters is a really welcome change for Admittedly the only MMO I've ever played before isWoW but I like the structure of thisbetter. It not all about grinding to level up, and you can play as little much at a given time and still get a lot out of the game. The graphics are really good and there's perks with buying the game,. Like if you buy before the en you get 1200 points for the item store in game. And when you buy the game you get your first 30 days free.
Secret World has gone subcription free, (though you still have to purchase the base game). I'm interested enough that I might pick this up when the price drops a bit more, from the little I played in the beta it didn't seem worth a subscription and I knew it was only a matter of time before it went free to play.
I picked this game up a few days ago and I'm kinda really liking it so far. I thought from the beta that it was good but not worth a subscription, but as it was on sale for $13 and it's free to play forever there was no reason not to buy it. After playing Guild Wars 2 I just can't seem to go back to the old mmorpg playstyle, but this has just enough of a GW2 feel to the combat that I'm not bored. It's also fairly difficult, which is a nice change of pace.
