Aliens : CM DLC news

Looks like the first DLC will hit in March sometime and introduce a humans vs xenomorph horde mode.

Fans won't have to wait long for more Aliens: Colonial Marines, as the February 12 release of the game on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC is only the beginning!

Four downloadable add-ons are currently in development, spanning new campaign and multiplayer content. The first add-on, Bug Hunt, is a new cooperative multiplayer mode in which players take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies across three brand new maps based on environments from the ALIENS film. Bug Hunt is currently planned to arrive in March, with the remaining three add-ons scheduled to be available by the end of August 2013.

These four add-ons will be available for individual purchase or as part of the Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass, a $29.99 / 2400 Microsoft Point bundle that offers a savings of almost 40% over buying the content individually*. The Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass is currently available for purchase on Steam and will soon be available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Bug Hunt is currently planned to arrive in March, with the remaining three add-ons scheduled to be available by the end of August 2013.

I know some people have a problem with the whole Season Pass situation, but I did it for Borderlands 2 and will probably do the same for this game; as long as the content is worth while; which I can't seeing it being absolute shit. Don't get me wrong some of the DLC for Borderlands 2 in my opinion (Mr. Torque) has been short in length; I would rather wait a little while and be given fewer DLC packs but much more content bundled in each one; but hey that's the future of video games, so get use to it!!!

The total amount of money one spends on a game (Initial purchase + DLC) is always something that gets people stirred up. I have chose over the years to look at it as an investment. People have always raged over the amount COD maps cost, but when I go back and look at the amount of time I have put into COD games (which is alot) it really seems like a small amount of money. I have bought many season passes the last year or 2 and have rarely failed to get my moneys worth. But I think if people get over the starting sticker shock and really look at how long they have played a game they might look at it the same way. Just my .02

$90 total is cheap for the amount of entertainment possible.  Hope it pans out.

After reading a bunch of reviews this morning, the DLC pretty much sounds like it's all stuff that hit the cutting room floor so you're paying to get the full game because they didn't have time to finish it.

That's where DLC crosses into a bad place with me.  Not to mention given the reivews, this game hardly seems like it's worthy of 20 hours of total gameplay.  Dunno who's going to hang onto it for 4-6 months for DLC.  It's a rental at best.
