Looks like all games from 360, XB1 to Scorpio will be winners.

That video is really well presented, though loaded with jargon (as it must be). Recommend a lot of pausing to Google unless you are a total computer hardware geek.

I'm with you Krak, a lot of that stuff is over my head. Biggest thing for me will be price. I can't really afford to upgrade consoles every couple of years. I do realize technology is moving really fast these days, so gone are the times of console generations lasting 5+ years before the next upgrade.

However, I enjoy console gaming because I feel like I can just buy the machine and be set for a while. I'm expecting this thing to be, at least, in the $500 price point. If it's more than that, I'll probably hold off for a bit.

The good thing is MS is guaranteeing all games made for XB1 or backward compatible will also work on Scorpio and will work better.

Even MS is saying this is not a console generational change. Just upgraded capabilities. Sort of the same as PS4 Pro, only better.

Impressive specs. I am familiar with some of the terminology and bottom line the new console will definitely be next gen.

One thing about backwards capability though.  Looks like XBONE games will work on Scorpio as is -- that is you can load up any XBONE game that you have now and it will run fine as is on the Scorpio (with better video).  However, this is not true for 360 games.  Only those that are on the backwards compatibility list -- which means software has been tweaked to run on the XBONE -- will run on Scorpio.

As an example, assuming the current list, you would be able to load up Halo Reach on the Scorpio because it is backwards capable (assuming you have access to it), but not the 360 Halo 2 or Halo 3 games because they are not.  Those games (along with Halo CE, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo 4) would only be available on the Scorpio thru Halo MCC which is an XBONE game.

Not a deal killer for sure, but one has to be aware that not all 360 games (but a lot) will be playable on the Scorpio.  Here is the current list of 360 games that have been modified for backwards capability:

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility/available-games

Another thing I noticed in the specs was the statement that the port configuration would be identical to the XBOX ONE S(lim).  That means 2 USB 3.0 ports, not the 3 on the original XBOX ONE and no separate Kinect port. This could limit flexibility and is somewhat disappointing for a console with so much more horsepower. The only possible way to use more than 2 USB ports would be via a USB hub, if that works.  I am about to test that out on my Slim in a couple of days. This post: http://2old2play.com/forum-topic/games/destiny-say-anything-79724?page=3... explains why I am doing this.

I am saving my pennies for this but am not sure that I will be in the front of the line to buy it.

Update:  An unpowered 4 port USB hub appears to be working when connected to one of the Slim USB ports.  I am using 2 of the ports on the hub, one for my wireless headset base station and one for my play and charge cable.  I don't know about using more than 2 ports or connecting something that may require more power (like an external drive).  May require a powered hub, but regardless, for me, going from one to two works.

I'll buy one.  Probably trade in one of my X1's towards it.

Recieved an LG 43UJ6500 4K UHD HDR Wide Colour Gamut TV today. This is the first part of my foray into 4K gaming on Project Scorpio. It's not the best TV in its class but it's an AUX TV that I use for gaming. Our primary TV is a Panasonic Plasma and we're not ready to get rid of it. Soon, OLED!
