Lobby chat dosent seem to work. Anytime i go or someone joins a fireteam we have to start party chat to talk. Randomly I hear people in BTB or warzone though but they always seem to be on kinect mic. No matter how much I yell at them to shut up they don't seem to hear me though.
They probably don't realize that the kinect defaults to be used as a mic. They have to go into their settings and disable 'use kinect as a mic'. They also may not have the volume loud enough to hear you or they simply don't care. Warzone seems to be filled with people and their mics picking up random talking or noises. Arena seems to be better at having actual useful talking, but it's still a rarity with randoms.
Yeah, its weird to not have chat enabled in the lobby. Even weirder is sometimes you can hear the other team, or maybe just one person in the other team.
The game chat works ok for me. It only seems to cut out when I'm searching and it starts establishing a game...after that it's fine.
nobody is disputing that game chat works. game chat seems to work fine and lobby chat only seems to work once the 4th loading bar starts to fill up and right after the game ends. thats when you can hear both teams. the lobby chat that we are frustrated with is when you are sitting in a fire team in the game menus. you are not able to chat with anyone until a game is started. so like if somebody says dont start it i have somone coming in. you cant hear them. or if they wana goto the bathroom real quick. or if everybody just wants to chat a bit you cant hear anybody. this is when players are forced to goto partychat and why nobody ever talks in the games.
Seems to be a common problem. I've asked and hope 343i will talk about it in their newsletter.
I don't think I have any problems, at least that I notice. I didn't get it the first day though.... I waited about 3 or 4 days.
