Sometime this week. They haven't given a specific date.

Yeah no kidding. I just play solo in arena most of the time anymore between people already being in a party of 4 and communication barriers. Hopefully BTB will cure some of that. Hopefully big team maps will be a bit more open than the warzone ones so the vehicles will have plenty of room to operate. Once BTB launches I dont see me playing warzone anymore.

yeah i mean i still like warzone but something about it feels repetitive, theres no real feelijng of being in any kind of control of wins and looses. the game gets outa hand real easy and can get to  point were you have no chance of a comback. there needs to be more ways to score points or somthing. or maybe lessin the points from leader kills and make Spartan kills more of a priority. but seariously why do i have to keep waiting. i guess this goes back to my main thought that btb doesnt work which is why it wasnt in the game also why they said next week without an actual date. hopefully it does come out this week and hopefully it works

The high value of the AI enemies is to allow for comebacks.  Aside from the 150 point bosses, the 25 point bosses spawn near armories which allow your team to slowly crawl back.  But just like any gametype (4v4, btb, etc) warzone can spiral out of control if your team plays like crap.  I just lost a game on Raid on Apex 7 even though we controlled our nearest armory and the spire the entire game.  We even kept the pressure on capturing their armory but they were able to manage and get the final shot on all the 150 point bosses.  And remember, Warzone is a social gametype, so the search restrictions are a lot more loose in terms of matching equal skills.

social. the only person i ever hear talking in there is the dude that nobody wants to bring to party chat cause he uses the kinnect to communicate. this is one example how not having lobby chat is such a big deal. it seems like a small matter but if everyone is in party chat then there is no communication between parties in a warzone. i think warzone is suffering because of it

I would be careful putting too much hope in BTB. Now correct me if I'm wrong - and I'm sure somebody will - but aren't the BTB maps all simply Forge creations.

Seems I read somewhere that they asked some of the best BTB community forge creators to take the reigns in making BTB maps inspired by maps such as Standoff and Avalanche, etc from previous Halo games. The maps will not be exact recreations, but will not be brand new maps done only by 343's team.

I think the community creators do most of the forging and then 343 cleans them up and gets them ready for launch.

I've never been a huge fan of BTB, but it doesn't sound like 343 is actually making brand new BTB maps. However, 343 could also be adding their own maps and I'm mistaken - which is certainly possible.

yeah all the big team maps are from forge but thats not a bad thing. showing maps made with forge can help inspire forgers. im all for forge if it works this time around. halo 4s forge was crap. the forge community in reach was incredible. thursday nights when reach was out was the high point for the community since ive been here. it was all forge maps and game types all night and it was a fucking blast!

Cool, I want to check out BTB today. Unfortunately we won't be getting Forge until December. We're very limited in what we can do until we can forge our own custom maps for custom games. I don't like waiting either, but that's the way it is.

Well, Forged BTB maps. Le sigh ...

Will we never be done with untextured, poorly lit objects. All of the weapons, vehicles and Spartans look like shit in this environment.

I'm in love again.  Was able to get about 7 games in (with randies, so that sucks) but overall I think the maps play great.  Only map I have yet to play is Guillotine, and that's the one I'm hesitant about.  Spectated a couple people who were playing and it actually seems small and full of too many power vehicles (banshee, mantis).  Deadlock (Standoff remake) is a blast.  One of my favorite maps from Halo 3.  Not the greatest for slayer, but objective gametypes work wonders on that map.  Only downside so far is one team has to deal with lens flare from the glare of the sun.  Basin plays rather well.  I would increase the time it takes to spawn a sniper, as map movement seems limited with the current sniper spawn rate.  Recurve is also extremely fun.  8.5/10 on the maps.  Only reason I'll venture out of btb is to play warzone so I can at least make use of my REQ cards.

I am loving the BTB. My only gripe it the lens flare you speak of. Sometimes the game knows you can see anything so it puts little markers over the enemies head in your sight to tell you where they are. I will only play warzone if I have a boost card for it now.

The forged maps seem good to me. The lighting is much better now than what we have had in the last few Halo games. I never had any problems with the lighting in H3 since everything was well-lit in that game. But since then, the lighting got worse and worse as they tried to make the lighting more realistic after that IMHO. Shadows made it hard to see things on forged maps and especially bad for indoor maps. Sounds like we will have a lot more control over the lighting in H5, so I'm looking forward to that. We'll be able to make indoor maps again!

ive actually noticed that alot of the maps are forge or a type of forge all the brreak out maps i believe are forge and quite a few others when you look at them in customs they dont have their own picture which leads me to belive they were made with forge and i noticed the last couple of days the one map we play all the time has like five varients. its the same damn map with a couple things removed or added here and there and dramatic shading

I thought that was common knowledge?  Anyway, many of the maps are variations of current maps.  For example, Eden is a variation of Empire.  Regret is a variation of Truth.  Orion and Pegasus (and all current BTB maps) were built using Forge.  Fathom, Plaza, Coliseum, and The Rig are the only original, non-forge, 4v4 maps in the game.  All Warzone maps were built from the ground up.  As far as the Breakout maps go, I can’t tell you much as I don’t play that gametype.  I believe 343 made the Breakout maps with their unique look and color specifically to differentiate that gametype and maps from the rest.  Honestly, I don’t mind if all the maps were made in forge.  As long as the maps play well and not one color (Reach grayscale), I’m happy.  Sometimes less clutter can be better.

All the breakout maps were made in forge. I heard we will be getting remix maps of Fathom and The Rig in future DLC.
