I'd like to be able to open the chests as often to get loot for multiple characters. And I usually end up playing with several different groups. So the more keys the better.

But the loot really isn't even any good.  Sometimes you'll catch an exotic, but I think your chances of that are better with Xur/Nightfalls.  I'm not sure if you even get a reward the second time you open a chest on, say, a 32 with the same character.  The Treasure Keys are a sucker's game.

Can anything other than the Queen's weapons be had? I've had no need for them so far?

The cipher is not looking like an attainable goal for me, so I'll always have more than enough keys for that day.

Exotics do drop in the chest, but they are rare.

I was wondering if it happens more that the first time you open the big chest?

I've had about 4 exotics drop from the locked the chest in the past week or so. RNG has been good to me lately with that chest :)

Running the Queen's bounties gives me a key for each character with each reset.  I am also getting a key when I run a level 34 POE, so I actually have a little surplus.  Other than the first time I haven't seen any exotics, just the same blah legendary weapons, although I did reroll the Fell Winter to get the automatic perk.

I only run the PoE for Etheric lights. THW really missed the mark for PvE players.

Can you get Etheric Light in POE at Level 32 or do you have to run it at a higher level?

You need to run level 34 for the light.  You will get one weapon core and one etheric light for each completed 34 for each character each week.

Btw, I ran the Queen's bounties on my Warlock and Hunter yesterday and got a Treasure Key for each.  I will be running the Titan thru today.

Edit:  got one for the Titan as well.

I just like opening the queen's chest so I can sit in it.  Makes me feel special.

Yep.  The ol' Glimmer jacuzzi.

Glimmer jacuzzi. That made me laugh.

On another Destiny topic, I landed the exoctic bounty for the Thorn and damn the 500 Curcible kills may be impossible with my PvP skills. Any pointers on working through or will it just take time. What I really need is a Void Primary, but I've yet to Raid the VoG or CE where those type weapons drops could drop.

Primary can be useful.  They're certainly not mandatory, though.  Just play smart and you'll grind it out.

What class are you playing? If Warlock or Titan, then use Voidwalker or Defender to help with void kills.

The void primaries like Atheon's Epilogue and Word of Crota are poop in the Crucilble. Word of Crota would be the best bet, but overall you'd be better off using Void secondary and heavy to get your kills (along with grenade and super kills).

Mainly though, just try to limit your deaths since that sets you back. The kills will come once you get a feeling for how you want to play.

Thorn bounty...

I tried using the Word of Crota when I did my Thorn bounty. Couldn't kill anything with it. Something about that gun just doesn't fit me. So, I used guns I like and do OK with as my primary, then tried to just do damage with it, while killing with a void grenade or void secondary/heavy. I wound up using a void fusion rifle (Plug One) or a void shotgun (Swordbreaker) and a void tracking rocket or void machine gun.  I got more kills with the MG than I did the rocket. Be careful on heavy ammo drops. Seems I'm seeing more people camp the drops for easy kills - not even trying to get the ammo.

I used a Warlock Voidwalker with the void scatter grenades.

Pick your times to play. There are times of the day when noobs abound and times when overachievers abound. Pick the former. Don't be the tip of the spear. Always follow others toward the red, or camp control points and let them come to you.

I did it on my Hunter in a little over an hour with Word of Crota, a void shotgun, and Truth. Play control and play as cheap as you can. Crouch in corners with your shotgun, whore your camo-on-demand (a shitty design for a multiplayer game, but if Bungie makes stupid decisions that encourage cheap gameplay, you may as well exploit them), bait the objective. Just play conservatively and limit your deaths as much as possible. It also helped me to stick near my teammates since I'd never played Crucible before and didn't know the maps. Being near teammates will help limit your deaths.

Crucible is a cesspool of random chaos, but Thorn is worth it. I had fun leveling it up in PVE. If you despise crucible, you can do like I did and save your exotic bounties so you can do the Thorn, Bad Juju, and Invective bounties all at once.

Sweet and thanks for the tips. I'm running a Titan and will switch to Defender with Judgement VI shotty and Truth and start the grid.

The magnetic grenade the Titan has is pretty sticky.  That's a pretty good way to get a trade in a shitty situation and salvage a +3 out of a situation where you may just get a -2.

As far as what Minotaur said about people baiting the heavy ammo drops, I always made sure to go to the heavy ammo location where my teammates were to prevent that from happening.

It might be a good time to do the thorn bounty while Iron Banner is going. Maybe all the overachievers will be playing that instead of regular crucible.
