Did a quick search but didn't come up with anything so I thought I'd see what you all drive. I live up to my gamertag. This is all copy pasta from another board.
Posted here for a little while a while back but haven't been active in a while.
When I last posted, I had only 1 FC and it was in a state of perpetual construction- and still is. Since then though, I've picked up a couple of FCs. One is an 88 TurboII in fairly decent shape aesthetically but it is having some compression issues now. Here it is on the day I bought it back in July last year.

Here she is trying on some new shoes before I took it to a drift event. Just picked up some el cheapo Drag Rims so that I didn't do any damage to the saw blades.

And a shot of the engine.

I'm obviously no pro at this, but I suppose I did ok for a bone stock FC and my first time trying to slide. I still think I'm more interested in auto-x and track days, but I had fun.

After the event, I rolled around on the white rims for a while just because they had decent rubber left on them.

So the car's sitting back on the saw blades for DD duty, but I just ordered some S5 T2 meshies and hopefully they'll be showing up sometime today or early next week.

I mentioned my first FC, and it is still down at the shop where the engine was built while the builder lines up all the drivetrain stuff to get it back on the road. Here she is with the engine out, sitting on some S4 vert wheels.

And on the lift being treated to a 5 lug front swap.

I plan to do some track time with this car, and maybe the occasional drift event. Here's a really terrible quality pic of the engine, notice the blower?

About a month ago, a friend and I went in on an unknown year/trim S4 FC that was sitting near the highway here in town. Turns out an old high school friend owned it and we got it for $500 with the hopes of turning it into a double duty Chump Car racer and missile drifter. It wound up being an 88 model according to the vin, but we're still unsure of the trim level. The wing mirrors suggest GXL but I'm not entirely convinced.

She was already fully gutted when we got it, but it came with an engine and two transmissions.

We just need to tear the motor down to check it out, and put it back in and get it all wired up, then mock up some sort of gauge cluster and get it caged.

That's where everything sits for the time being. Thanks for reading.
;D
Further update, the Turbo car finally gave up the ghost. Compression got too low for it to fire up. We think the rear rotor is probably caked with carbon build up. I bought it for relatively cheap, allegedly also on a fresh rebuild. I'm convinced the previous owner was a liar though. Idle was bumped higher than normal because any lower and it would die, and it had a toggle on the fuel pump that acted as a sort of primer because it was tough to start, and almost impossible to hot start. All indicative of compression issues. I'm currently unsure what road to take with this car. It is the cleanest FC I've ever personally witnessed but definitely not the cleanest out there, my exposure has been mostly limited. I have an option to have the engine professionally rebuilt by the same guy that is building my supercharged engine, but the fundage really needs to go to the blue car.
So as it is now, I'm rotorless. The supercharged car is almost done, I just need the fiance's student loans to come in.(I had to pay up front out of pocket because the college she's attending doesn't pay them out until after financial deadlines...)
The chumpcar hopefully will have a little progress as the weather starts to cool off. Not having a dedicated garage to work in currently makes it damn near impossible to work on during these Alabama summers. Engine should get torn apart sometime this fall and hopefully put back together and in the car soon after.
So, what do you have?
I love me some rotary... I am one of the few rotary guys who like the SE3P (I just wish it had a 13B-REW). Anyhow how it sits today...
current mods are mostly asthetic but it does have full race coilovers.
Mods that are coming are 18 or 19x10.5 +12 TE37 replica wheels, Siebon vented carbon hood Full exhaust/header/intake Cobb tuner and ls7 ignition.
Behold the mighty Sarcasmo Jones and his ability to hold an entire Civic on a poorly designed vertical roadway!
P.S. I get 36 MPG...so suck it!

50+ MPG...closer to 52 I think...no rotary though...
Green with envy....gif)
Unfortunately I had to sell my RX8 as it was a pain in the ass to get my daughter in the back seat. I was absolutely bonkers about that car. One of these days I'll get around to uploading some pics when I've got some spare time.
Now I'm in an Audi A6 Avant. Not quite as much fun, but still not a bad little car.
ProjectRX7, have you tried Seafoam-ing the T II? That shit will break all kinds of carbon loose, although it can plug up a catalytic converter with all the shit that comes out. Might be worth the $5 to buy a bottle.
I haven't tried seafoam. The guy that built my supercharged engine said that water may help and I've heard that from a few different sources now so it may be something I look into. Seafoam just makes me nervous, I've heard stories about it really messing stuff up, but I've also heard people swear by it as well.
I also love RX8s, but it took some time for it to grow on me. I know the 13B-MSP has its haters, but this article is really interesting.
http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articles/id/2645/rotary-radness-mazdatrix...
I knew of the existence of this motor but that article is great... much more info than mazdatrix own blog. I cant imagine how much that rebuild would cost lol. It doesn't really seem to say but I wonder if the e-shaft and rotor are from the MSP on this hybrid... it would make since as they are lighter and higher compression.
also you may want do use the water method only if your trying to clean out minor carbon buildup... if you have a stuck apex seal (sounds like you do) you need to soak the combustion chambers in seafoam for at least a day (you will need new plugs, so you may want to put used plugs you don't want to ruin in first) after you let it soak for a day or two try to turn the motor over. if that is a no go then repeat the process with ATF (Automatic transmission fluid) this will clean it out the best just don't soak any longer than 2 days or so to preserve soft seals. if that doesn't work your SOL lol.
The engine still spins, which is why I wouldn't mind doing water. I'm just not sure how to go about doing it, really.
I see... http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2ndgen/tech_water_injection.html
Well, water won't work.. She'll turn over but it won't start. I'm not even sure seafoam would work at this point.
Damn... well the last resort is using ATF. Basically you pour a few tablespoons full of ATF into the leading sparkplug opening (plug removed) and re insert a old plug that you dont mind fouling and crank it over for 10-20 sec. with no plug wires. Then I would repeat the process again and leave the fouled plug in over night. The next day crank it over again with no plug wires. Replace the plugs with good ones put the wires back on and hope it works. Otherwise your motor is gone and will need a rebuild.
@Church, Yes seafoam is very popular for cleaning out carbon buildup in both rotary cars and piston cars alike. In many cases it will give you back some lost compression and gas mileage.
And it'll scare the piss out of you when you see the enormous cloud of carbon smoke that comes out of your exhaust, however that'll pass. The worst that I've seen was my F150 with about 150k miles on the clock. The first cloud wasn't too bad, but when i took it for a spin around the block whatever was in there broke free and I had a huge cloud behind me. Sputtered a few times, but once it cleared itself out it ran like a champ. I can't remember the exact vaccuum that it was holding, but it was damn good.
I ran it through the RX8 and had similar results, just not quite as extreme as the truck. I'm not sure if you can use a vacuum line ( into the intake manifold), unless you perhaps have someone turn it over while you feed the hose into the bottle?
A lot of people talk about this seafoam stuff?
We are an Audi family - this is our 2008 A4 Avant in summer mode with a hitch mounted bike rack. Winter I have a cargo box on top for the skis.
@emezmer - The method your asking about is a two person job. One to hold the bottle and insert the tube into the seafoam and the other to modulate the throttle to make sure the car keeps running.
@SkiwiNV - Do you live in Nevada? I love in the Greater Reno area so I figured I would ask.
Naah... - Vancouver, BC. My home ski fields are Grouse Mountain and Whistler
- the NV is the suburb (North Vancouver) I live in here, not Nevada.
You can do it yourself, but the car has to run and idle. I just held the hose near the top of the fluid, not submerged, and sucked up about half a bottle. you do have to pay close attention to idle though, as if you suck up too much at one time it will stall out the car.
Easiest route is to add the seafoam to your fuel and run it through the system before the car gets to the point it won't run. It's also great for gunked up carbs as well. I'd guess it'd help injectors too?
We used to run trans fluid through the carb with rpms modulated (2 person job as well) and you literally pour it down the open carb as the car is held at steady rpm, slowly on the fluid as to not break or bend anything, but it is a quick fix on badly carboned valves n such. Huge white cloud of smoke out the rear when you do it.
I'd think this process would mess with the catalyitc converters these days, might wanna drop the exhaust first if it's still hooked up.
Ah, the almighty T2. I used to have one for a while. Fun car, at times I regret selling it (along with my 944)..gif)

yeah oldschool I bought a old 1st gen rx7 for 400 a few years ago that "wont run"... I brought a bottle of atf and a battery, hooked up the battery dumped the atf down the carb sat there and BSed with a buddy for a half hour or so turned it over a few times and it started right up... that lady (who was told by her mechanic that it needed a rebuild) was standing on the porch and looked like she was going to shit a brick when I drove off.
No pics of my 93 Toyota Celica GT. She's not the best looking, but she's erved me well. She's pushing 207,000 miles now.
Hey! Don't forget she's RED!
Very awesome cars there, Sherb!
I suppose I'll give the seafoam or atf a shot later this week. Not like it can do more damage than is already done, huh?
ATF CAN soften up your seals, as in cause them to enlarge/expand if left too long in contact with the rubber.
True but if the motor is not starting in the first place due to a stuck apex seal using ATF will not harm it anymore as it will already need a rebuild if the ATF doesnt unstick the seals. Its a last resort effort before tearing it apart.

So....I may have picked up a couple others along the way.....
1976 Porsche 914 2.0 - Rolling shell. Going to swap running gear out of the '73. More solid car, and picked it up for less than it was going to cost me for replacement panels.
