Limited Edition Question

According to this link here:

http://halo.xbox.com/blogs/Headlines/post/2012/05/16/The-Halo-Bulletin-51612.aspx

It mentions one of the things unique to the Limited Edition are something called "Specializations".

Everyone will have access to select Specializations, but those that purchase the Halo 4 Limited Edition will receive the ability to unlock six Specializations early, available at launch on Xbox LIVE. You can use them, one at a time, to achieve higher ranks in your Spartan career. In addition to gaining access to new ranks, Specializations unlock new customization options. We’ll be releasing more information about Specializations at E3, so expect additional details about this particular feature then.

Does anyone know what these are exactly? They sound like "create a class" from COD, but I'd like to make sure. Specializations and the future map pack downloads are the only thing that interest me in the Limited version.
Things like:

UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Special Edition, Bonus digital content through Xbox LIVE

...I have no interest in.

I'm debating if I want to buy the Limited or Standard Editions. The ONLY reason I'm considering the Standard is the $25 of a future purchase @ MS Store online:

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Halo4?WT.mc_id=Email_Halo4Preorder_Online_6-5-12_PreOrderCTA

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I cannot confirm this.

SPECIALISATIONS (work with loadouts)
Six of these are included as instant unlocks with the Limited Edition.

1. Mobility: allows you to move faster.
2. Ammo: increase capacity bonus.
3. Firepower: 2 primary weapons, replaces secondary.
4. Awareness: integrates motion sensor into all scoped weapons.
5. AA efficiency: longer AA duration.
6. Resupply: allows you to pickup grenades off corpses.
7. Sensor: increase range of radar.
8. Shield: recharge shields faster.

Thank you for the info Deep.

I'm thinking most likely the Standard Edition. At first I liked what I was seeing as far as the mulitplayer goes...but then I saw some clips of a player using the "prometheus vision". I'm not sure how long I'll be playing the multiplayer when everyone is running around using "super-predator-sees-through-walls-vision".

I'm trying to keep an open mind, only time and more clips will tell...

I feel similar to you as far as the value of the Limited Edition and what is of interest to me. Had the map packs NOT been included in the LE, I would not have bothered as most of the other digital goodies I would be ok with just unlocking.

I bought the LE for the map packs.  Figured I would save a few bucks.  What I find interesting with six of the specializations being available for immediate unlock is that it gives LE buyers a bit of a leg up on standard version buyers in the beginning which contradicts the supposed "we all start with a level playing field" position.  All hail the mighty $.

It could all pretty much be moot, especially depending on how you play.  If the extra ammo one is one of those, is that really useful?

LOL as quickly as I die, extra ammo is of no real use, but I could see where some of the others would be of benefit.  Guess we'll have to wait and see which ones will be available and in which playlists.

I also will be getting the LE mainly for the DLC stuff but the live action stuff is pretty cool as well.

I enjoy collecting, and I especially enjoy in game exclusives, so this is win/win for me.

Frankie 7.12.12 Regarding Foward Unto Dawn movie distribution.

It could never be Blu Ray as a pack in anyway. If it had been a pack in it would have been a DVD because everyone has a DVD player. Can't say the same for Blu Ray. We'd be impacting the value for a huge percentage of potential players. And we wanted it to be HD for everyone - so... there we have it.

On a related note, LE packaging is done and it's mmm-mm good.

Regarding specializations.

At 20:10 they start talking about it. Not a lot of minute detail. I think I gleaned that the LE specializations may not be immediately available. You have to play the game and earn spartan points first.

Now that makes more sense.
