Whats the deal with my assembly parts?

Ok in my normal assembly. I got a couple of each item. Everything is medium weight I think. Now if I go to AC data under User user 01 there is a few standard type mechs. 3 i think are mediums, then a sniper quatraped, then a tank. If I load one of these up like the tank for instance when I got to assembly I have all these parts I never had before. All heavy weight of course. Is this the way it is? We can't mix and match different weight categories together?  As I don't appear to have a lightweight category in user Ac Data, how will i access my Light weight parts? This is a confusing menue system...

those are all default builds that you can use right off the bat. i never really checked any of them out myself. as soon as i got some cash i started building a Med build.

if you want to go light you pretty much have to buy all the parts and then go to assebly and make it there and save it under AC data if you want to switch back and forth with different builds.

What i want to know is why when I go to my assembly I don't see all my parts there. I only medium, or heavy, depending on what stock design I opened up. I have 4 different quad legs but I can't see any other legs unless I go load up a new design. Can't I see all my parts at once?

ah i see what you mean. thats why no one likes the menus in this game.

when putting together an AC the drop downs only show parts for that type in that category. it will only show med bi ped legs if you are equiped with a set. you have to press "b" once and then it should show you a drop down list in orange of all the types of legs that you have in inventory. same goes for the head, arms cores and weapons.

does that make more sense? if i had access to my box i would be able to give a better explanation.... but, Jr. has control of it right now.... he's watching Madagascar....angry

Also just figured out, While in the assembly garage, if you press the Right Trigger, you will see all the parts for area. So instead of having to press b and choose from the different category, press RT and see all the parts now. Sweet.
