Dragon Age and Mass Effect

With ME3 now out and people having tried the multiplayer, I was wondering what you thought about the multiplayer?

Also, it is rumered that the next Dragon Age may have multiplayer too. Assuming there is a demo and it plays well, would this be a selling point for you?

I ask because the last DA, while having a great story, had you running back and forth through the same areas looking at the same wall paper again and again. Also, the gameplay shifted and became more "actiony". I noted MR.402's post and began to think; so, I am wondering where you all stood.

Okay I'm going to come right out and say that DA:2 sucked ass, it was so dumbed down, the dungeons were the same couple, that were turned around, etc, and the combat was absolutely ridiculous, I was literially pushing only two buttons and wiping enemies off the screen as a mage, there was no challenge at all, and I felt so cheated froma game that I was so thrilled with Dragon Age: Origins, to basically an action title with lite RPG elements.

I'm playing ME3 right now besides SkyRim and KOA: Reckoning, and again the game whilst improved, is nowhere near what it originally was in ME1, Bioware has turned their games into action titles with lite RPG elements(you use to be able to customize & tweak everything before!!), now the MP aspect of ME3 is fun, but does it do anything that redefines the 3rd person shooter?? it just feels like hoard mode in GOW3, just with some cool tweaks; so I'm curious as to how an MP element can be imployed into the next Dragon Age?? I would love to see a offline & online co-op feature for actually playing the campaign, that would be cool, but of course that heads into the direction on a MMO, and now I just read that Bethesda is working on a MMO based in the Elder Scrolls Universe, but I will just have to wait and see if Bioware can come up with something interesting for DA:3

Sadly Bioware has lost there mojo in my mind.   I'm not sure if it's EA's influence but I remember the hay day of Balders Gate and Planescape Torment.  Minsc and Boo or the awesome Morte.  Where's the twist ending like Revin in KOTOR?????   Where are these character interactions that I used to love so much?   I'm 35 years old and dammit I like to play with a paper doll for each of my party!  Quests should not be "Oh look what I found!  Not sure who it belongs too but????"   Then you hit the hub world and what do you know???!!!! Shepard  "Here's that thing you needed."   NPC "Thanks now get lost and save the universe."   I've given up trying to explain these design choices from a company that used to be the RPG elite.

DA2 sucked Darkspawn ass and based on Biowares track record lately DA3 will too.   Bioware titles have now been put in the rent first buy later catagory for me unfortunately.

Personally I could care less about MP in these games. While I do think the MP in ME3 is great, it wasn't a selling point for me. DA3 having it wouldn't be a selling point either as I would need to be blown away with a demo before picking it up as DA2 sucked and was a waste of money in my opinion.

The coop is good. Its challengiong, well as you level up its more then challenging, its down right stressfull but its solid. The classes and the leveling up keeps it interesting and enjoyable. But honestly its not the game so much as the people I have been playing with that keep me coming back to the mp.

You know, I am right with you guys.

I have touched the single player only briefly on ME3 but playing CO-OP with friends on the MP is divine. I honestly can't say for sure if I would buy the next DA assuming it becomes more wattered down than the second. If it is more wattered down, then the multiplayer becomes a bigger sell point for me.

Okay I'm not going to spoil a bloody thing, but if this is the last game of the Mass Effect Series than Bioware can kiss my ass, I just finished the single player campaign and was literially scratching my head afterwards, now supposedly there different ending based upon your actions, but I did every side quest so I must have gotten the right one???

You'll have to play the game and see what I mean, but right now I feel like I purchased a game simply for the MP Element, because unless there's actual DLC that makes the story proceed any further, then I can see why a lot of people are ticked off!!!

The ending for this game just boggles the mind.It doesn't matter which path you took, the outcomes the same regardless.Especially for a Bioware game.It makes no sense. The way it is now,the decisions you made makes no differents whatsoever.Nothing gets answered. If anything,it's more questions than anything.

I really, really hope Bioware is not going to leave the ending the way is.If they do release dlc(damn well better be free too),here hoping to an epic conclusion worthy of an epic series.

Go to Biowares site and check out the forums. There's a lot of pissed off people.I read somewhere that 89% of the people who played the game were unhappy with the ending(me included). That was a couple of days ago,it's probably higher now.

I appreciate you guys not spoiling the ending for me yes, but with all the complaints I am worried about how it will end up, and with this statement that was released does not relax those worries:

"We are aware that there are concerns about a recent post from this account regarding the ending of the game. In this post it was stated that at this time we do not have plans to change the ending.

We would like to clarify that we are actively and seriously taking all player feedback into consideration and have ruled nothing out. At this time we are still collecting and considering your feedback and have not made a decision regarding requests to change the ending.

Your feedback and opinions are of the utmost importance to us. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Our top priority regarding this discussion is to keep communication with you, our loyal fans, open and productive."

Now is there any kind of hint before you go into the endgame? It was obvious in ME2 with the Omega 4 relay I am asking because I want to get my Galactic readiness to 100% and have not done any mp yet.

Back on topic I got ME3 because I want to see how it plays out and it's easily one of my favorite series MP had nothing to do with the purchase. DA3 will have to do some improving I was glad I just rented DA2 I got bored with it by the end of the game where as DAO I played twice in a row. It will take more than MP to get me interested in DA3.

Did you import your Shepard?  If you did then you don't have to play multiplayer to get the best endings.   I got the best ending in the game 1st playthrough with 57% galactic readiness.  I have so far only played a couple of hours of multi so I'm happy I had those import saves.  Just be a completionist and do every quest plus collect every war asset and make sure your either full paragon or renegade.   If you did not import you will probably have to play some multi because some choices in previous games effect your overall readiness score.   There is a hint that admiral hacket will give you that tells you when the end game starts.    Plus when the game is finished it automatically starts you at that point for multiple playthroughs.

Unfortunately no all my saves are on Xbox and my Xbox is in need of repair so I picked up the PS3 version to tide me over until then. I have been getting all the assets that I can as of right now I have most of the galaxies at 100% but my Shepard is a mix of both Renegade and Paragon, but I will make more playthroughs I'm sure, the only reason I have waited on mp is it took a while to be delivered and I don't want it to be spoiled by some random. Thanks for the info.

It would be interesting to see how they handled a DA multiplayer.

Rogue slips into shadow, places traps. Meat shield does a yell/taunt to get enemy to charge through the traps. Mage sweeps up the leftovers.

But it would almost have to be co-op to due the story.

However, I am still waitng for a dungeon crawler similar to X-Men Legends or even MUA.
