Wakers Story solo hint (possible spoiler)

I did the mission on heroic for a bounty.

When you get to the final chamber, do not kill the Knights. Seems to prevent Thralls from spawning. At least that was my experience during solo.

I just kept running around in a circle, Knights in tow,  finishing off the Witches and then the final boss.

Hmmm, guess I did this by accident.  I always wiped the thralls first, then hit the witches, before even looking at the knights, I never realized more thralls could spawn!  I always left one knight standing to recharge grenades and my super before starting the next round.  A rocket or two right at one of the spans to start a round always seemed to help a lot.

Anyone else notice that the Daily herioc version was easier than the standard heroic?  Running the mission on Heroic from Earth (not the Daily) I had an extra round of 3 witches before the ogre.  During the daily heroic, all enemy's were level 30, but that extra round did not spawn.  Maybe my daily was just screwy, becuase also, when I entered the bunker, I did not have any enemies until I reached the final room.

I do the knights first. While killing knights, the wizards appear oblivious. Let your icebreaker charge to six shots, then kill the farthest wizard. Repeat for the second. The 3rd and 4th realize that they need to move. But you can still do the job from the entry side of the bridge, while using the large convenient rock for cover. Take care of the thrall and adds as required. Save your rockets for the shard.

That's exactly how I roll it.

Tried that, I'm just not capable enough I guess. I kept getting swarmed by the Thrall before finishing off the Wizards. I still don't have an Icebreaker either. :(

Another way you can try it is:

Initially do not shoot anything but run up the right hand side and jump up onto the rocks in the right back corner. (Thrall cannot reach you here).

Start killing the knights until they are all gone. (Make sure when killing knights and thralls you do not accidentally hit a wizard).

All Fireteam members shoot at one wizard only and the others will remain docile.

Take out each wizard one at a time.

The final wizard tends to hide in the opposite corner (left front) so one team memeber may have to drop off the rocks.

Might ignore the knights the next time I am in and see if we can take out the wizards one at a time.

Thank you BLAQ-ICE_1 for showing me this.

The IB is a game changer for sure. Can't imagine raiding/striking without one. During a recent Crota raid, we had a chorus of IBs all singing at the same time. Was inspiring... :) The IB is also a great thrall killer up close no-scoped. They chain combust.

Daughter managed to get a Gjallarhorn as a drop in a NF (she did shriek a little bit). It destroys the Wakening shard in less than half the time it took with conventional 331 rockets. Unfortunately, you've got to give up the IB while the Gj is equipped.
