I received a legendary boot drop that has higher defense then anything legendary I can currently buy.  I think it came from a raid chest.  Did anyone else notice this?  Bungie has to be friggin' kidding though.  Like i really want to grind to level a new pair of boots up for an extra 23 defense(I think) over the ones I have now.  The materials should swap between like rareness of armor.  Is Bungie trying to make people return their game?  Maybe they really just want hardcore grinders to stick with them.
 

Yeah, an Exotic and maxing out raid gear is the only way to get to 30.  Otherwise, the highest you can go is 29.
