I guess I'm one of the few around here that don't like FF. It just really sucks when you're gaming with randoms and you have a teammate that is dealing damage to you. Maybe they're a jerk doing it intentionally, or just some stupid kid who doesn't know any better. In any case, it's a very bad experience for players that are victims and it can drive them away from gaming. Getting rid of FF eliminates those bad experiences and makes playing with randoms more enjoyable. I like the no FF in CoD, and I also like it in Halo 4.
While I can live with it either way, I like FF to be off as you do.
I've often suffered from trollish teammates in MM. Why me? I think it's because game bigots can't stand that I'd pick up a Sniper Rifle for example because I am low skilled. They'd weaken my shields so you die quick or just simply to punish you by being annoying.
I haven't gone into MM in a long time and Halo 4 wasn't as bad for the problem anyway but Halo 2 and 3 were terrible for it. Add that and the snotty dialogue in proximity chat, MM was a place to avoid.
I guess that's why I just play Customs now. Friends are where the real fun is and FF being on or off is not that big a deal.
It's probably why I like TITANFALL MM so much. FF is off and it's easy to Mute scumbag teammates. You have your own stuff and they can't have it.

Without FF you can't have classic moments like BC grabbing the sniper rifle and then proceeding to betray me with his first shot. Felt like 2005 all over again.

Felt like 2005-14 all over again with Bluestar continuing to complain about it for two hours.
It's been awhile but this topic caught my interest. For my 2 cents worth they should bring back FF. Just as some have commented it makes for better strategy and if you can boot a annoying player I'm fine with that. I makes you more aware of what you are shooting or fragging. That's just my opinion from a Halo lifer.
