Halo 5 / MCC info from Gamescom

Some notes:
- The Chief collection will have a skill-based ranking system exactly like Halo 2 did.
- Sanctuary is the next announced remastered map for Halo 2 Anniversary MP.
- Halo 5 beta will begin Dec 29 and run for 3 weeks and have 7 maps.
- Halo 5 beta will focus on tight, 4v4 gameplay with smaller maps and no loadouts. Everyone on equal footing again.
- Looks like purple is coming back to Halo 5.
- 343 partnering with Twitch
- Halo Channel seems to be replacing Halo Waypoint for all Halo content, stats, and live-streaming matches.

The video on sanctuary took me on a ride through time.
All very good stuff.
The Midship re-imagining looks good.
Sanctuary is, well Sanctuary but so much more beautiful.
Notice how similar the Halo 5 weapons and armour are to Halo 4's.
I still think a Halo 5 Multiplayer Edition will be out just before summer break. Imagine not playing Halo, like in the Beta, for a whole year while knowing how good it worked for 3 weeks.
I agree Deep that it's quite a gap between mid January and Holiday season of next year. I'd figure there could be a second beta to test new gametypes, or larger combat, rather than just a multiplayer edition. Especially if that edition's progress were to carry over to launch. Who knows though, maybe we'll just have to wait and not even get a COD style Day Zero edition.
I also noticed that while the beta had no loadout differences, they stopped short of saying anything about the rest of the competitive multiplayer.
I like the focus. That's always been the strength of the series to me. Hopefully they deliver.
Why do I have this nagging feeling that when H5 launches, 4v4 will be more traditional while btb will get the fiesta treatment? *sigh* Guess we can't win them all.
Halo 3 was kinda that way with BTB as well. Except when Ranked was around, but that wasn't for long.
In what regard? The only thing I can think of is BTB Heavies, which weren't incorporated until the latter half of H3's lifespan. And heavies weren't that popular anyway, especially playing with larger groups.
Yeah that's what I was thinking of. I didn't play a ton of BTB - mostly Social Slayer and Customs.
I'm so ready for this!
Look Great

"I'm looking at it right now. Well, more like 48-60 because I'm running in debug. But yeah. Dat jungle."

No Midship in H2A
well that makes sense
We may have to get the band back together.
Thanks for the links.
I can't see the whole of TMCC being 60fps. Too many little hints that it will be difficult to make it happen.
I watched the Semi finals and Finals of the Gamesom H2A 4v4. Very exciting.
Goldenboy and Bravo casted wonderfully and the whole 343i production was very good.
