Which weapons to come back in Halo 5?

Few of the weapons from Halo 3 did not make any appearance in Halo Reach or from Halo Reach to Halo 4.

For example, Type-25 Grenade Launcher or the Missile Pod or spike grenade (Brute type).

Which weapons would you like to see coming back in Halo 5?

Hard to tell.  They've always had some attempt at having an enemy/human dichotomy, save for Halo 3, where they had the Brutes in as well.  I actually liked that, as the human and Covenant weapons seemed fo have a lot of similarities, the Brutes' weapons played to their strengths and tendencies.  I thought that was pretty cool.

So, we need to have the Battle Rifle.  There's probably some kind of Covenant equivalent.  There's a sniper rifle and some kind of Covenant equivalent as well.  A grenade and plasma grenade.  A pistol and plasma pistol.  Rocket launcher. I wouldn't mind having it homing on vehicles like Halo 2. I liked the Reach plasma launcher, so I wouldn't mind seeing that.  I wouldn't mind the grenade launcher from Reach either, but I'd default to not having it in.  There's gotta be a shotgun.  Probably some kind of plasma rifle.  Maybe even a third grenade of some kind.

Other than that, I'm kind of torn on how the sandbox could go.  I think there should be a few more niche weapons, like the Spartan Laser (which sounds like a great idea, now that I mention it).  Maybe there should be a weapon that's kind of like the Hammer of Dawn from Gears of War.  Paint a target and keep it on for 4 seconds or something and it gets instant death. So, the Focus Rifle from Reach, but actually useful. I kind of miss the Mauler as a Brute weapon too.

Holy Shit! Dixon's list passes my acceptance tests!

I think it's the 'End of Days'!

I suppose I'd add Dual wielding as in H2 and H3.

Here I was, thinking you had a really low bar for acceptance, as far as Halo goes.

Meh to dual wielding.  I'd rather it out, honestly.  It makes balancing a little harder unnecessarily.  Halo 3 didn't have dual wielding.

Dual Brute Spikers were one of my favorites. How did I do that? wink

Repressed memories, obviously.  You're right.

I only ever used the Assault Rifle, the Battle Rifle, and Covenant Carbine...oh, the Binary Rifle was kind of bad ass.

Brute shot, mauler, needle rifle, spike grenade, and halo 3 turrets/hogs. Keep h4 pistol and br. Get rid of dmr, binary rifle, boltshot, and promethean grenade (forgot what it's called and I'm on my phone lol).

I love my LightRifle. The Grenade Launcher was also great in Reach. You can't play Grifball without Hammers and Swords.

I liked the brute shot. It was a good defense against vehicles without being overpowers. I also really like the grenade launcher from Reach.

I love the grenade launcher from Reach and I was so disappointed that it got replaced by this so-called grenade shooter. :(

No, I actually meant to say Spike Rifles but Spikers was just as good for the example.

Spike Rifles had a longer range than Plasma Rifles.

I actually used dual wielding in the H3 campaign to juggle/move plasma pistols forward to stockpile them before a big firefight.  You can never have enough PPs.
