Wizard builds

I pieced together a fire build, off the cuff, and have been running this, just Torment one mind you, but it's a lot of chaos and fun, good damage condsidering my gears total crap so far, BUt it is a blast, hehe.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Finiar-1655/hero/42225504

I toss a black hole/blazar which sucks em in and explodes, and before it even explodes I toss a meteor/molten impact, then mirror image mimics for 20% damage, and I use explosive blast/chain reaction and run in circles under their feet while all this is hitting, total chaos, and it melts everything BUT rift guardians. I gotta get my damage up.

No real defensive anything on the build, maybe explosive blast if you want to stretch it. Fan of knives on shoulders. I do have pretty good cooldown rates though, can about spam explosive constantly.

Crazy or what?

Anyone have any suggestions, or wanna drag a Wizard along for gear? laugh

Dreamreaper, bless his soul, dragged me through level T2 with his wizard, and I was underpowered and squishy. And everything that dropped was meh, hehe.

Then I went to town and shuffled a few skills slightly, stole my Aughild's off WD and he grabbed his WD and we tried T3, why not? laugh

Went a lot better except lost some foot speed somewhere. BTW, it was raining drops with the WD, dunno why.

So I shuffled my para's for locomotion and he went back to his wizard, and we did T2 again, and I thought we did better?

I removed the mirror image thing, added energy armor/prismatic, wasn't using the illusions anyway. Adjusted magic weapon from the fire rune to deflection which is a brief shield, and this seems better.

I do need more fire damage, more damage and more gear. Especially the dang Mirriorball I guess, that aught to be fun. Weehoo. Found a yellow socketed helm with better damage than the Blind I was using, so swapped that out and added a diamond in it. CDReduction is now beyond 47%, and this helps alot.

If you are running fire damage, keep an eye out for some Magefist legendary gloves. These are usually about the best-in-slot for fire damage. I run some on my WD even though they have a strength main stat. The fire damage increase in combination with the Firebats skill is just too good. I should probably mention that I play on the 360, so we don't have the updated ROS skills and other goodies.

Remember, sheet DPS isn't everything and the damage multipliers like % fire damage are not reflected in your DPS. Also, while damage is good to have, don't ignore your thoughness.

I have a pair of Magefists, but, and this is laughable, literally, Dreamreaper and I were laughing about this last night, I'm using a pair of Gladiator gloves for the CHC and CHD pluses. Apparently my Magefists suck, hehe. The Gladiator Gloves drop gold ( behind you, so aggravating) after every massacre bonus so I'm alway taking off and then circling around...

I'm focusing on fire damage and cool down reduction aside from the obvious crit chance and crit damage. My CDR is at 48%, and I found both a new weapon and a new off hand last night and my damage now buffed is at 750kish, and that's with the weak Magic Weapon/Deflection skill. Might bump it to 20% with Force Weapon instead, I was kinda tanky last night, when I wasn't dead, hehe.

Really need a good head piece, looted a Swami (?) last night but it's not that great, and of course, still looking for the elusive Mirrorball to drop.

Okay, started a Cold Wizard last night ans with a huge amount of help from Dreamreaper I'm two bars into lvl69 ATM. laugh

Don't have my fourth passive or any really decent gear and I'm feeling underpowered and quite squishy. Using Cold blades, ray of frost, frost nova, black hole sub zero, magic weapon-defelction ( which is helping) and blizzard. Some of these increase cold based damage and do seem to help, but I guess until I can hit 70, it's just a waiting game. I do have three azure wraths in the stash, I think one's Int based. And I might have frostburns, can't remember. definately have ice climbers somewhere...laugh

Anyone have suggestions on passives?

And yes, I'm going to do an Arcane and a Lightning wizard as well. Why not? Stuff is gonna drop, might as well try and use it.

Have lvl 70 lightning, ice and fire wizards and an arcane at 60ish I think. Trying to juggle builds AND elements to keep 'em different is a bit interesting. Reapers been a help.

The ice builds not as strong but the benefits of the cold effects are tremndously powerful in controlling mobs even if they die a bit slower.

Still learning my way through arcane and I can see it should be pretty powerful. Of all them I think the lighning will probably come up short although the stun potential again makes for some good control.

Still using my DH to farm for drops/gems/shards/cash to support this Wizard habit until they can stand a bit better on their own.
