Titanfall - favorite tactics thread

I personally love reading "favorite tactics?" threads on game forums, so I thought I'd start one here.  What are some of your favorite tactics?

For me I've been trying to take more advantage of the wall hang and to jump on walls by reflex when another pilot is chasing me.  It pretty much always sets you up in a better position if you're off the floor when an enemy pilot comes through a door.  Run through the door, then jump up, wall hang, and shoot the enemy pilot as they come through.

Anybody else have any fave tactics that they've come up with since release?

I've been wall hanging as much as I can. Ejecting into the dropship can be fruitful. I kind of like dropping a shield wall in a long narrow sight line and use an accelerated chain gun. I saw my son using the Arc mine burn card very effectively. No one could get near him.

I have many tactics in this game, I think it would be easier for me to record videos to explain them. I'll work on that in the upcoming week. One thing I can't stress enough is the importance of turrets. Turrets will both distract and severely weaken an enemy Titan, and the kills they earn you for bots make a noticeable difference in Titan build time. Turrets are strong enough that they can even kill pilots and during an evacuation will damage a drop ship if its near enough.

I'm an ogre /40mm cannon whore.

I shoot you in the head as you clear your bubble dome.

I keep shooting as I work towards you - then I boost into your face, punch you, pull back and fire my rocket salvo, then forward again for another punch, which usually seals the deal.

I like to get into a nice cluster f#ck of enemy Titans, letting them come in and think they've got me, somewhere nice and cramped and confined, wait until the very last second and then enjoy the show from way on high as the nuclear eject works it's magic.

THe insurance rates on my Titan would be astronomical the way I write these things off laugh

the only thing i got....for now.

on hardpoint, your team only needs two objectives.  A and B, B and C, or A and C.  if your team works on holding two....math says you win.

During hardpoint games I find it helps to only occasionally attack the third point, it messes with the enemy team and it usually leaves them frantic and disorganized.

Only trying to hold two is for slackers /sarcasm.  In the latest patch they dropped the points earned for defending hardpoints significantly to promote offense.  So now the usual battle for "B" continues while A and C change hands for most of the game. On my main gamertag I don't mind defending since I maxed out my current regeneration level and I'm not trying to regen again.  I'm doing a couple regenerations on some other gamertags when friends aren't around.  I like watcing my level click up.  On those tags I'm going for the point bump for asaulting unheld hardpoints.  Not recklessly to make the team lose if it's close.  I play a lot farther away from the held hardpoints then I use to.

I like throwing my satchels at battling Titans,  placing around hardpoints/flags, and dropping them behind me like little turds in some game types.  Always fun ejecting and dropping satchel bombs.

Killing rodeoing pilots by driving the Titan off the map makes me chuckle.  i didn't think it would wok but it seems to.  Will have to try it out in a private match with someone

Before getting into your Titan, always throw your nades in a random direction if you don't see any enemies. Getting in your Titan replenishes all your ammo and nades, so it would be a waste of potential random kills to not toss them.

When I see an enemy titan drop I rush in and pop my smoke.  I have killed a ton of pilots this way as they try to get into their titan.

Another favourite of mine that I learned after being the victim is to jump on an enemy titan, when the pilot goes to disembark I jump off tossing a satchel charge in front of the titan, a quick double click and the enemy pilot is history.

When I'm in my titan and an enemy pilot hops on I pop smoke of couse, but if I'm out of smoke I shoot my the rocket that spawns multiple explosins at a wall then just back up to the wall.  Takes care of the pilot.

To counter the enemy Rodeo/Satchel tactic, I do this. I hop out of my titan and IMMEDiATELY climb back in because you're invincible during that sequence therefore negating the satchel explosion. Because they have to jump away to avoid the splash damage it gives me enough time to dash, turn around, and kill the pilot if they're within view.

This often works even if there is no satchel charge. :)

In addition to smoking a freshly dropped Titan, you can also hit it with a Cluster Bomb inside the shield for extra damage.
