Kinect-less XBox One for $399
Looks like MS is going to offer the XBox One w/o Kinect starting in June.

For those of you that have the XBox One, how good or bad is Kinect and how much are you using it? I don't have Kinect on my 360 so I don't have any practical experience with it.

I use mine for voice control daily. Until they revamp the OS so that things can be done easier with the controller or let us use our headset mics for voice control, it's the best way.
Not using my Xbox One much at all - played with this variant of Kinect for a couple of weeks just after I bought the system then have had it turned off ever since.
I use my kinect a lot for voice commands and it is much better than the one on the 360.
The camera is brilliant, i use skype quite a bit having family in different countries and use the XB1 now instead of the laptop, The camera follows you around the room and zooms in if you move away from the camera, still freaks my sister out when she is watching that happening on her laptop lol. The voice is clear and you dont have to shout, even if your 15 - 20 ft away. Another cool feature, If you go out te room for a while and the console goes on standby it recognizes you when you walk back in the room and powers back up, and i love the way you ask it to turn on and it signs you in when it picks you up in the room.
I used it a small amount when the demo came out for the Sports Rivals and again it is so much better, it picks up your slightest movements better and you can stand further away.
All in all, they improved it no end compared to the old one.
I like the it myself for voice commands . I haven't tried Skype as of yet but over I like it.
Still not Interested...I just need something to race...Like Plug-N-Play....Not Voice Commands or any other BS...My Ass told me today it is not getting over compatibility issues and Microsoft's New Direction..So STOP even thinking about it....IN Otherwords FUCK'EM!!!
Out of nowhere, wife says, "we're starting a XBOXOne fund for you. I think it's a Father's day thing, this morning on the phone while I was at work.
AND THEN I told her it was dropping to $399 in June, soooooo........
She's even gonna try and get the kids to chip in. Craziness....
Looking forward to seeing you on FM5 OldSchool. It's been pretty lonely here in the eastern US time zone without a scheduled FM5 event in the evenings.
Thank God for monthly rivals events...
Not in use at all. Tried the head tracking feature in FM5 but I'm too far away from my screen/the cam for it to work (aprox 10 ft.), plus the change in sound when it does pick up head movement is just anoying.
