Bound By Flame (PS4 Version)

Well I had a few games laying around that I'm no longer playing and said WTF and picked up this RPG title for my PS4, and even though it's by a relatively unknown studio, it isn't half bad; plays very similiar to the Witcher, and allows you to craft just about anything if you have the materials to do so, plus you can break down weapons and armor for components as well.

Combat is pretty intuitive, the enemies are aggressive and use different tactics; so switching between your Warrior & Ranger stances is needed, and of course you have your Flame Demon powers too; the skill trees for each group is fairly diverse; but if you continue to put all your XP points into the Demon Powers, your character will become affected by those actions (I'm just starting out and trying to play a well balanced character)

Graphics are quite good on the PS4, it's certainly no Witcher 3 or Dragon Age: Inquistion, and the voice acting isn't the greatest, but if your looking for something to get your RPG grove going on the next-generation consoles, this might be it.

As for a score, I would rate it about a 7 out of 10, it doesn't do anything to redefine the RPG genre, but it certainly holds it's on to some of the hack n slashers.

Your opinion seems consistent with RPG fans I've seen playing this. It is a competent action RPG that won't rewrite the book but arrives during a drought of new titles. Watching gameplay, I was a little surprised at the language, while I know it is violent and M-rated, it could be a little tamer.

Yeah I was shocked by the level of swearing in the game, so to anyone that has little ones; don't have them around while playing this RPG. Like I said earlier, I am just starting out and learning the full control of the game, and that includes the conbat, you can't go charging in, and hope to clean house of all enemies; tactics are definitely needed, which includes switching between your Warrior Stance (using two handed wepons, swords, hammers, etc) and your Ranger Stance (Dual daggers, crossbows) and using traps and tapping into your Demonic Powers.

I literally took me several times before I found the proper combo of tactics to use against a gigantic boss, all the while contending with skeleton minions (archers, knights, etc) who are doing a great job of lowering my health bar.
