Nice times there kc! I ran a few tracks in a few cars and im close lol. Bit more work to do.
One car for me, within 5 laps with rolling start. Still some improvements to be made on the tune but it's close.
Are we doing a shakedown tonight?
Shakedown not organised but can be arranged. Sorry i havent been about the last few days but back now and ready to roll. looking at the 24 signed up there will also be a requirement for 2 rooms. I want to try and keep it as one room but with the 24 drivers signed I would need to stretch the points out and run two rooms and then award points based on time completed. Not sure if this will work though, any thoughts people?
one quik thought is the fact that several of us said we'd miss a race here and there... Makes me wonder if it'd be full full each race, or enough out each week for one fullish room... .?
belay this comment... I just looked at the signup / room sheet and see that it looks better organized than my idea... Just a thought...
Virtual motorsports runs that way and it seems to work. They do qualifying with collisions off and then take a note of the lap times and invite people to the correct room for the race.
They run a 20 min quali event at 8:00 then sort the rooms.
They then send an invite out (Around 9:00) and do 1 parade lap and start with a rolling start in order.
I would love to do this here but each event will run from 8:00 till 10:00 total so may not work with a lot of people.
Qualifying rooms will open at 14:00 CST / 20:00 GMT / 06:00 AEST (EU) and at 19:00 CST / 01:00 GMT / 11:00 AEST (US) where all drivers will then receive an invite from their room host. If you do not receive an invite, please get in contact with the Series Organiser via Party Chat and he will resolve the situation. Qualifying itself will take place at 14:15 CST / 20:15 GMT / 06:15 AEST (EU) or 19:15 CST / 01:15 GMT / 11:15 AEST (US), where you will have 15 minutes to set your time, the best of which will then contribute to form the grid. Please space out on the opening lap to give each other room so you can all have clear, unimpeded certified qualifying laps. Once the 15 minutes are completed, pull over, stop and wait for the host to give direction. Any drivers that lag out or leave the session will have their best time used as displayed by the results screen, unless if a qualifying lap wasn't completed, upon which a new qualifying session can be started. No driver is to drive backwards around the track, as stated within the Racing Standards.
Anyway why not organise room placements with the results from the STCC and run a Pro driver table and an Gentleman racer table?
Further to what SUPERNOVADAVE said in the lobby i have made the correction that the Ford GT is in fact supposed to be R3 776 and not 763. I have not yet decided on one or two rooms. I have split them at the moment but may change it back to one room as the likely hood is there will be people who cannot make it and would rather have one full room rather than two half full rooms.
I have also had a suggestion that because the first race is so long those who are in the top three by the middle of the race would gain their first pit handicap at that point, and then the top three at the end of the race would gain a pit handicap. This does mean that someone could be on three pits by race two though. What do you all think?

Guys I have had no feedback from this, Id like to know what you think before I make a final decision on the Mid session pit addition for the top 3.

Things become complicated and it can be a tactic to do your pitstop just before the midle of the race so someone else gets the extra pitstop.
Does that mean you have to do 2 pitstops in La Mans if you are in 3the or better place in the midle of the race?
Its better not to get discusions while the race is going on, so the rules have to be clear.
Maybe start with 2 pit for this long race so you wont fall asleep.
And lose 1 pit if you are lower then say 5 or 6 at half of the race.
The first pit has to be in the first half at that case.
Thanks Snoop for the shakedown, I think I will be running with TC on for this series. Max is right about traction control for these cars. That actually hurt a little bit to say.
I got a couple of ideas about qualifying. One is just have people post lap times here before raceday. This requires the honor system but I don't think that's a problem.
The other is to turn off collisions during the qualifying race. We wouldn't have to worry about spacing and there would be less chance of hard feelings if someone ruined another's lap.
I will most likely miss the first race, since im moving to a new apartment (sunday is the last day in the old one)
I will most likely miss the second race. And from 16 May on I am touring USA far from my Xbox.
I do hope we can limit to 1 room, to be able to test myself again'st the best.
I do not know what was said about Traction control, I know it brings a definite advantage to use it, I am using it to set time in the leaderboards where many of the better time,s are set by others using it.
If it is banned thats O.K. with me but please anounce well ahead, becource switching can't be done without practice.
It can also be a item for handicap, allow the slower drivers to use it.
Or allow a combination of handicaps witch has so much impact on power it's no
disadvantage to the best driver,s. This to accomodate Rookie drivers
I put XXXX in the Race table of day's I know I can't Race if others do that that might give a better understanding about the actual number of people that will enter a Race.
I Assume silverstone will be on 18 May ( no weeks skiped )

Martin you are quite right, no weeks will be missed and I think what you have done is a fantastic idea, so could i ask all those who know they will be missing weeks could they put in an XXXX in the week they know they cannot make it on the sign up sheet.

Done. As I'd said, there's several weeks I'll be out. FYI: May 11th is Mother's Day over here... Mugello will have to take back burner that day...
Lovely car, Stewie. I'll be chasing it down the Mulsanne.
@Thane - tweaked the paint you did and sent it back to you. Then I tweaked it some more... I'll send it again. Let me know what you think so far. I just changed some sponsor logos is all. Love what you did though. BRT!

Pfft, untuned car and my terrible driving wasn't much fun. Apologies to anyone I hit. Super, going to need your tuning skills :)
Really enjoyed that and awesome turn out!
The 458 is having issues but good to test now and not mid through a race :)
Cheers Snoop!
Yeah that was fun. Damn good racing!

Just tested my tune from CPRt
I still are chacky becouse the new dinamics of the BMW.
4.06.175 Clean and 4.04.715 dirty
If I get used to this tune There is defenetly room for improvement.
So I am Happy. Thanks Team CPRt.
4:04? Wow!
I was happy with 4.04.xx
I do consistantly get 4.05.xxx clean just a litle less agresive driving to get the corners burned in.
Martin
Very nice paint Stewie, it'll look great in my rear view mirror.
See Fitzy, you should concentrate on the road IN FRONT of you more than the mirror, or even the walls for instance...
My best lap is 4:07 in the Ford GT. That's one lap. I'd be thrilled if I could do that consistently over a race.
