Congrats Church, sounds like you had fun, still will never forgive you for deserting us but as long as your having fun, that is what matters.
Days filming for me tomorrow, only half an hour away for a change, but the powers that be are being a little quiet on how much we are getting paid, so my guess is not much. Some documentary on the Iron age...Probebly our national language station and they always plead poverty...
Just tell him to head for Temple Bar district, plenty of watering holes there that will suit, and a lively atmosphere to the place. http://www.templebar.ie/
Not sure how long he is here but start there and let nature take it's course,
...And as I expected another lousy paying gig. Turned out it was for the tourist board to show the history behind a new heritage park. Eight hours up a bloody mountain (or what they call mountains here) Wind, rain and sodding cold...Oh the glamour of the movies...
You need a gig over here in Miami, so you can grouse about the 95 degree sunshine...bikini's, water...you know, when Ireland invaded south Florida...on their horses in full plate, hehe...
Meh done heat in full armour, not much fun. The armour was so hot I had to warn people not to touch it, the padded jacket I wear under it was soaked from sweat and I drank nearly three gallons of water a day, never pissed once. Oh how I wish it was an advert, they pay great, no this was tourist board, so very poor money. Even films and TV series like Game of Thrones pay bad these days, I fave turned down GOT four times because they won't pay enough to make it worth my while. At least this was fairly local and with only an hour and a half travel time. Couple more shoots coming up and they will have eight hour travel times, and only slightly better pay...Ah well next month my fight partner and I are booked to put on a sword fight at a hotel, that is a long old jouney but damn well paid.
Worst I can remember about heat was my feet in patent leather getting married in the Florida sun, with not a padded jacket but dress socks. I could feel my feet frying, fully expected to find blisters. Tux + Florida sun in June = heat stroke...damn near.
Sweat I'm used to, direct contact was a bit rough.
Did the whole marching band thing in south Florida way back so I know what hot is...
Hell, riding a bike in leather in Florida's rough. You can feel the asphalt soft under your feet from the heat at an intersection. Last time I rode down A1A to Lauderdale it wasn't as fun as I remember.
1. Thanks for the well wishes and all! The treatment went well, and side effects aren't too bad. I go back in a week for round two.
2. I'm dyslexic with numbers, but not letters or words. Reading is awesome. Math is a fucking nightmare. Phone numbers take me three tries to get right when I'm writing them down.
3. I got married in June in Florida, but INDOORS. Oldschool it sounds like yours was OUTDOORS??
4. I have cabin fever!!!! Other than doctor appointments and the like, I haven't left the house in soooooooooooooo long!!!!!
5. Weather is lovely here. 70s, with the windows open.
6. There was something else, but I forgot what I was gonna say....
Yeah, married in Palm Beach, nice private courtyard wedding on the island, nice reception, sent most everyone home, and then an outrageous pool party for the select few that stayed behind. Pool bars rock. My best man's brother tended bar at the pool for us, wild time, great fun.
Riding bikes and Marching band verses fighting in full armour weighing 60lb, done all three and the latter is in a different league I can tell you. Not something I plan to do again. It was a one off and the folk we were working for were told in no uncertain manner, it was not on. Now there are folk do that for real and they have my respect, and maybe if I was 19, it may have been a little less of a killer, but at 50, 12 hours in that kit, with a fight every hour...Man, it was not fun.
Kit glad to see you back on good form, 25 years married for me this year, 30 years together in total...my how time flys.
Sure. Make the chick who is dyslexic with numbers do math. *doing math* 22 years married in June, 26(ish) together as of TODAY! Good god we are old lol.
Yeah, I married at 30. However my wife married much younger. And truthfully, she keeps me from getting old I think. That or she's trying to kill me, it varies day to day.
@Church... it sounds like you need to practice more. Your little break has made you soft.

Sounds like a commercial?
