[FM5] Road America track add on for Forza 5
Finally we have a new track for Forza 5 and its Road America
http://www.forzamotorsport.net/en-us/news/fm5_road_america_track_announce
Nice! Let us know how it goes.
I will have to drive it later and see how its changed from FM4
Might even add this to the V8 Supercar event
You guys got the ring yet???
I'm wanting to look how it compares to GT6, FM4 and RL
Ah M$/T10...I'm fucking sick of them both. T10 always making you pay for shit that bought in the last 3 games. Been considering trading my XBone for a PS4. At least Sony knows how to treat it's customer!
You see this is the problem we have right now, people giving up on T10 and Forza and turning to GT6, hence why we dont have many people to create events with, hence why its so quiet on the Forza events list.
It's free ffs, read the damn article.
There's even a booster pack with 5 cars available as well.
Thanks KC
I was going to mention that if you had read the article then you would have noticed its a free add on
So before mouthing off please read, hence why i put a link up for you
Thanks
Holy Crap! You mean something is free? Besides a bunch of Honda's that were already on the damn disc. Forza 5 is on my shit list for being the worst game in the series, doesnt matter how pretty it is,they threw the core gameplay right in the shitter. There is plenty of posts here in these forums from long time FM players that refuse to shell out alot of money to play a crap game, thats why forza is so quiet. Most of us have gone to GT6 which IS a far better game...what FM used to be.
You are so wrong in so many ways that it's not even worth engaging with you. Some of us who have FM5 and who absolutely love it would like to discuss this new and awesome track. Find somewhere else to post your vitriolic troller comments.
Took a few laps on the Lotus in both the full configurations..... so awesome!!! I was immediately thrown by how much richer the environment is, so much more going on trackside.
Max, we should definitely consider adding this to the V8 series!
This!!!
Until you've actually tried FM5, you don't know what you're missing. Sure, I was just as pissed
as the rest of our old faithful Forza clan (after all, this is the 2old4Forza forum, right?) when
the game was rushed out with the xb one launch with less "community" content than we
expected. Still, I already was "all-in-one" with the pre order on the platform and CMs LE. Once
you spend some time with FM5, you start to realize that the content that IS there is high
quality and they continue to add more, as this spiral today is evidence of that. The physics engine is superior and the graphics are second to none.
As someone who owns all three platforms and games, FM5 is the hands down winner
IMO. While GT6 did a nice job on building upon GT5 and has a great selection cars, it
looks to me more like a cartoon-like game (even in 1080p on a 46" screen) than the
race simulation that is both FM4 and FM5. I will also add that the Thrustmaster TX
wheel blows away my Fanatec GT2 (and I was a big Fanatec fan) for FFB and overall feel (disclaimer, the stock rim
is a cheap piece of plastic, but the add-on Ferrari Challenge rim is outstanding and a
"must-have" for the extra $120.) The pedals are adequate, but inferior to my Club Sports, but Basher
is testing an adapter that should be available soon and will interface to the TX wheel.
In summary, while I will always have fond memories of FM3 andFM4 for getting me
hooked on sim racing, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the current FM5
and have no doubt it will continue to evolve over time into the complete community game
that brought us all to this forum in the first place.
Hope to see more of my friends on the track in FM5 soon.
No Nordschleife yet but i will settle for Road America, its a pretty awesome track
Even though I dont have the game I looking foward to the Ring on FM5. I'm really intrested in how it will look!
I will let you know how Road America looks on FM5. All the tracks so far look much better than FM4 so cant wait to get on this soon
Let me know Max if you can see Canada from Canada corner....but dont you dare try crossing the border!
Ok its not just the Road America track as we all know and love from FM4, there are 5 tracks in 1.
There is the normal track plus the one with a chicane at the fast right turn plus some smaller infield tracks
Yes! Going to fire up now.
Max, I'm on vacation this week. Lets get together and hash out some ideas. Miss racing with you.
Yea i am sort of about all week Snappy so may catch up with you on FM5
No complaints here if you add it to the V8 Supercar series.
I definatly will have to add Road America into the V8 Supercar series. The long track with the chicane looks interesting, the chicane is very narrow with a bump as you go into it
Very cool. I'm very happy with it. There are 5 layouts now. Good job T10!
To each thier own I guess. I was looking so forward to playing FM5 that I even had a fight with my wife about spending the money on an XBone. Then once I got it,and started playing it I was so let down. Sure the game looks great but the way it handles really gets on my nerves. Its like they took away any feeling of grip we had in FM4. Add in the over sensitive brakes that lock up at the slightest touch, its like I'm fighting the car all the way around the track. Then you add the DLC,that weve already paid for or came with the previous FM's just adds up to huge disappointment for me. I cant even play it,the game just gets on my nerves. My wife never lets me forget I have a $500 paperweight either!
I started this thread as i was excited about the new free track and to let the rest of the forum know about it too. I drove on it last night and the track looks and feels better than FM4. With 5 variations of Road America its a good add on as i was just expecting the 1 track that we already know.
What i didnt bank on was more dissing of FM5 i thought we had got this out of our system. Zombie i think you havnt spent enough time on FM5 to enjoy it like we do. Personally i think there is more grip in FM5 than FM4 and tune cars slightly differently. I turn my brake pressure down more on FM5 as well as setting tyre pressures and suspension settings differently. Most of the cars are good with the default tune but if you cant tune there are some good tunes people have shared, i have some shared too. If the brakes are locking up turn your brake pressure down in the tune or try them with ABS on. Some cars are more grippy than FM4, for instance the V8 Supercars for one, they were a handful in FM4 but in FM5 even though they still want to kill you they are more manageable, the others i have found are the R2 race cars in FM4, in FM5 they have a lot more grip.
Okay, everyone relax.
There is lots of truth to go around and TBH, I've gone back and forth on this issue. The surprise of RA today was a very nice one. Although I'm still annoyed at T10, FM5 has started to grow on me. And I was one of its biggest critics. That being said, there is room for all of us here. Z, load up Road America on your paper weight, LOL. JK. it's pretty cool. Lots going on and 5 layouts. Remember how much the physics messed with us from FM3 to FM4? You can adjust.
Oh, and BTW, I believe the character standing behind the barricade on the inside of Canada corner is Parcells. Pretty cool!
I can't even get myself back to FM4! I love it even with all the faults.
Ran my KTM X-box and Subaru BRZ around the main track for alittle while last night. Great thing about new track, not many times yet. topp 200 times :D I don't know they added in cars with the pack.
Has anyone else seen the glitch it's causing in Career mode? You can look at a series that is complete and have a new track, when you look you will have a medal on Road America, but one of the other tracks will not. I've seen this on 2 out of 3 series so far.
For those of us that haven't seen it yet.
