Shaky start for USC & Tudor Sportscar Series

Interesting read for anyone following the new TUDOR Sportscar Series.

It sounds like a lot of teams are VERY unhappy with the way the NASCAR management mentality is running (well, maybe "trying to run" would be a better description) things.....particularly the handling of the prototypes.  Refusing to listen to various teams inputs and concerns is not very smart.  No apparent concern for the costs incurred on the teams for additional "testing" sessions or repeated "spec" changes.  I will not be surprised in the least if the prototype fields dwindle as the season progresses.  Dyson Racing is sitting out the first part of the season to see how things are going to shakeout.  They don't want any part of an indecisive, knee jerk reaction, ruling committee that swears they know better than the teams that have been running the cars for the past decade or more.  Dyson hasn't run a GT car since the inception of ALMS back in '98/99.  The fact they are in talks with GT suppliers as possible options speaks loads in and of itself.

Here's to hoping for the best after a more than shaky start to the season/series.

Interesting and sad read. I guess NASCAR isn't satisfied with just one terrible racing series so they need to spread their wings?

The FiA isn't perfect but it does a much better job than NASCAR ever could. Sports car racing in America will always be fractured. I knew it was over when this merger happened. I didn't know what was going on when I watched that race.

The Euro's do a much better job.

Euro racing in General is much better, seems everything American eventually gets turned into a big production like WWE wrestling.  So what was the final verdict for the gt Daytona class ? Ferrari or audi after the non contact call?

I don't know all the in's and out's on this, but this I DO know.

I prefer a series where the teams/manufacturers are pushed to build the faster car, and allowed room to develope what is needed to beat the other guy.

NOT a series where everyone is reigned in to force everyone to run side by side. It stifles inovation and developement, in effect it's stagnation.

Everyone should have a faiir shot at the starting line, you can't enforce everyone being equal at the finish line.
