Good morning all. I hope everyone is safe and well, feeling better if needed.
If anyone's interested, I'm really about done with these colder than normal temperatures, and this whole winter concept. This morning is the third time I've had to deal with pipes freezing up BEFORE going to work. I vote we just move on to spring! A show of hands?

-14F this morning and another day and a half before the cold snap goes away. Spring? Heck, I'd take normal temps for this time of year
yeah, normal for us this time of year would be just dipping under freezing at worst, and we're getting single digits and lower. Only good thing I can say is the bugs will get knocked down considerably tfor this summer. Rest of it just sux.
It sounds like a lot of teams are VERY unhappy with the way the NASCAR management mentality is running (well, maybe "trying to run" would be a better description) things.....particularly the handling of the prototypes. Refusing to listen to various teams inputs and concerns is not very smart. I will not be surprised in the least if the prototype fields dwindle as the season progresses. Dyson Racing is sitting out the first part of the season to see how things are going to shakeout. They don't want any part of an indecisive, knee jerk reaction, ruling committee that swears they know better than the teams that have been running the cars for the past decade or more. Dyson hasn't run a GT car since the inception of ALMS back in '98/99. The fact they are in talks with GT suppliers as possible options speaks loads.
Here's to hoping for the best after a more than shaky start to the season/series.
Prayers and good vibes for your wife (and yourself) Knight!
As for the winter discussion, it's quite lovely here. 70s during the day, 60s at night. My plants are in heaven. Succulents are actually blooming, roses are outa control, confederate jasmine growing into giant walls of sweet smelling bushes. The only unhappy plant is my dwarf gardenia, which likes the rain and heat of summer. /end garden chat.
Getting over the flu, except for the annoying cough. Apparently I have the lung capacity of a small cat. So my coughs are weak and girly, and not enough to break "stuff" in my chest free. I'm taking some DayQuil cough suppressor/expectorant stuff, but its not helping, because of my pathetic little coughs. Any advice??
I start chemo for my autoimmune diseases again a week from today, so I absolutely must get well before then.
Speaking of my evil immune system, my dad randomly texted me yesterday. Apparently my aunt's husband's friend (what?) cured his cancer with this magic pill he bought online. *eye roll* My grandmother is fighting lung cancer, and my aunt tried to get her to ignore doctors and buy the magic pills. She said "no" lol. Then my aunt suggested to dad that i should buy magic pills to cure my autoimmune diseases. Ah. Magic pills.
Thanks Kitten. Sods law has dictated that I have picked up a stomach virus and am unable to drive down today to visit, last thing she needs is for me to pass that on. Sally is in surgery now so fingers crossed that goes well. The house is definitely suffering "Man home alone" syndrome so I need to get on top of that. Need to cook some food as well, been surviving on tea and choccy digestives for the last two days and I'm out of choccy biscuits. I hope she can come home tomorrow, it's not home without her :(
I just tried REKOIL (an FPS) on XBL Arcade. Terrible, terrible game, but my talking point is motion sickness.
This game made me motion sick in just a few minutes. What is it about some games that can cause this effect so quickly and other don't? What are the magic numbers? When 360 Perfect Dark Zero came out I was excited and ready to play. Bought it and then only played a few times. It made me sick to my stomach, dizzy and gave me a headache. The effect was so strong that for a long time, the soundtrack could make me feel nauseous, even if not playing.

Perfect Dark Zero got me too. I'd feel sick for 6 hours after playing for 6 minutes. Minecraft and Contrast both make me sick too.

Oh heck, I know exactly what you are saying. I would be walking along a cliff or something in a game, have to rotate the camara a little to see the path and BAM. It's like I seen that cup chicks video again... ugh
I'd try the Rekoil game to see if it triggers my motion sicknes but sounds like it would be a waste of $$. Far Cry 3 would get me here and there. I only had gaming motion sickness in general when got a big screen when i first purchased a console. I chose the Ghosts map pack which is also turning out to be a waste of $ so far. I should have finished some games in my pile while I wait for Titanfall.

I should have said it is has free trial and I don't recommend buying it until you try it.
Only time I might get a little motion sick is if I'm looking over someone's shoulder at their monitor. For some reason I'm guessing it's because I don't have the pad or mouse in my hand maybe?
Those old D-Type LWs are sex!
Some of the most beautifully sculpted cars of all time. And the noise.....
Seems like a good time to bring in Halo or even TITANFALL videos?
UNDERWEAR, the poor mans Rorschach Test media. What do you think? Need samples?
Now Knight, if we didn't love ya, we wouldn't talk about you at all...
What's a Miologist?
Shit...My wife Sally has taken a bad fall and broken her arm in three places head wreaked worried sick...
Get her looked after Knight! Prayers are with ya buddy. Just make sure she knows you're there.
Bummer.
Our prayers are with you Knight.

I need my hands for the blower. Februrary is often our heaviest snow month. I used my blower more this year than in any of the previous 4.

Interesting read for anyone following the new TUDOR Sportscar Series. http://www.gordonkirby.com/categories/columns/theway/2014/the_way_it_is_no418.html

I hate "all knowing" sanctioning bodies. They will ruin every good race league if they are able.
Good article

Anti-oxidants, not magic pills, can reverse cellular damage in hign enough amounts. I've sen it happen.
Did somebodies rusty joints free up?
That's what I am looking for.

My dorm room mate tried some magic pills and had an amazing time doing nothing at all. Then he was sick for 2 days.
Scared the living shit out of me.
It is a magical place filled with fresh, young, half drunk, semi-naked co-eds. You should go there some time.

Yep. Rekoil made me motion sick. It's that clunky frame rate or something. Terrible game
