Tuning in 2o4f GT6 events?
Tuning in 2o4f GT6 events?
So am I missing something here
Im wondering why all the events so far (thursday track night, the Rocket , mazda roadster and possibly the VW Super Cup (not sure on that one) are all stock tuning? Im not complaining but I do find it strange and wonder if Im wasting my time tuning vehicles and learning what different adjustments do to a car in GT6? From what I've seen, suspension, brakes, clutches, transmissions and differentials do not impact PP's. Only power and weight reduction impacts PP. Is there a reason why these aren't being considered as part of the build as optional?
All the FM4 events were full tuning (excelt for the occcasional aero or gear box limitations) so that we can have cars fit our own driving styles. Im getting ready to announce a new event with full tuning but if the norm in GT6 is to run stock, I wonder what the turnout will be because its not stock and if its even worth my time? Some of these cars are ok stock but must can be even better tuned and I for one would rather have a car that fits my driving style.
Thoughts
Well I can't tune worth a shit so happy to run stock. But if there is a way to send or get help with a tune for an event then that would be better.
If I like what the event offers I will prob enter regardless of tuning or no tuning.. :)
I'm new to this too so I will go with the flow. I've planned an exhibition event and wanted to see how the thing went before I decided on tuning. I think once we can share tunes and people get comfortable building and tuning you may see more events with that.
No your not wasting your time, in fact your getting ahead of the curve by learning the in's and out's of how tuning in GT works which will be a huge help to all of us down the road. At this point I think we are just looking to race online and getting used to the lobby options etc and figuring out tuning will be a slower learning process.
Grim, I'm all for tuning. I tried your tuned mazda roadster yesterday at susuki and was a 1.5 seconds faster than the stock tuning. same pp. keep up the good work. greg.
3G's....You are Missing NOTHING!!!!....Keep up the Great Work!!!!
Parcells concurs with the others you're definitely not wasting your time. As far as my Thursday nights go I dont see it as a series as such cause we use the car for a couple hours then move onto the next so in that respect why waste time tuning a car for 4-5 races? And I'll be brutally honest here...I'm a lazy fuck so when we do use tuned cars (and we definitely will on Thursdays) I usually feel the need to at least take the car around the tracks to set my final gear ratio which is typically all I've ever done and this extra practice goes against my lazy nature :)
I've already pushed out a couple of Thursday night cars simply because they come fully equipped and since were just getting started I wanted to have our initial races on the easy side but rest assured tuned cars can and will be used sooner or later on Thursdays. On the flip side though I find so many cars awesome to drive totally stock I often want to give them a go as the manufacturer envisioned.
So...when are you going to offer up a car for Thursday? Feel free to include tuneable parts. :)
I wanted to wait until I was sure I had a mic before offering up any suggestions. That said, I do have one in mind and will get it posted shortly. I'll also post my tune settings for the car if anyone wants to use it :)
Again guys, I wasnt complaining but rather confused a bit. Ive also noticed a few public lobbies (not ours btw) that had also forced no tuning so I was thinking it might be a gt thing since I was new to the franchise.
As for tuning in gt6, there is a quick tuning calc that Im trying out and I must say its providing some decent base tunes. ***GT6 Quick Tune***. Its taken some time to work it in but once you enter a handfull of values from the car in question, it provides some really good tunes. It even allows for handling adjustments in your preferred driving style such as Suspension Level, Corner Entry Balance, Corner Exit Balance, LSD Strength. By increasing these values higher or lower from the default settings will adjust the dampers, springs, together to achieve the desired effect. If anyone is having issues with your own tune, you might want to give it a try. if you find that the car is too stiff for your liking, lower the suspension level value and the calc will make the adjustments for you. Same with the LSD, if its too strong of an input, lower the LSD Strength value and it will recalculate the settings. So far, in the dozen or so cars I've done, its really done a nice job!
