I sux!!

Holy shit I am a horrible player.  I think I had a score last night of 8 - 33.   I played a little Black Ops 2 on the 360 so when I got the X1 I went ahead and bought Ghost.  I'm finding that I truely suck at trying to hit anything.

Never fails I see someone and about to shoot and I suddenly get shot from the side or behind.  When I finally do see someone and start to fire with my lowly noob gun I either miss so much they turn and shoot me or I hit them with my bullets of courage and they still turn and shoot me.

I do very well on the pc but apparently I cannot rely on my thumbs to save me.  Please thumb gods bless these thumbs so that I may smite people on COD Ghost!!!!

I'll have to check when I get home.  My biggest problem is my aim really.  I'm just to use to mouse and keyboard that I don't have the coordination on the controller.

Try lowering your sensitivity on the controller within the options menu.  once you get used to it you can slowly increase it if you feel you want to.

In most cases, unless you are a twitch run and gunner, you should be fine with the lower sensitivity.

Been there after being a PC shooter player.  Learning curve isn't too bad if you try and play at least a little every day ot two.

Well with Destiny and Titan Fall on the way I want to get better at it.  I've gotten to where the only PC game I play is BF4.  Thats when my pc isn't acting up.

*EDIT*

Okay turning down the sensitivity helped a lot.  I got more kills last night and wasn't spinning in circles trying to hit stuff.  One thing I noticed that is way different between COD and BF4 which I have been playing on the pc is being aware of your surroundings.

In BF4 you can pretty much establish lines and know that most enemy are going to be "that way".  Every once in a while you might have some that flank and get behind you but  your not too worried about them spawning four feet behind you.

COD is like chaos.  People spawn everywhere.  Last night I spawned behind and enemy and killed him only to have a guy spawn right behind me and kill me.  Made for an awesome deathcam lol.

Last night I also joined up with Buzzkill and a few others and that was a blast.  I really have to learn the names of places on the maps though as saying he's on the right side of the map wasn't helping much.

Anyways starting to enjoy it, for sure will look for parties that are playing first before jumping in solo.

Hi Ammodawg. The trick to solving the "people spawn everywhere" thing is to run with a full team on your side. Of course, that's not always possible - but when you run with a full team that communicates - you can be sure everyone stays on one side of the map, thus preventing the "they're spawning behind you" game from happening. It's not 100% - because sometimes someone ( usually me in my group. lol ) will go too far and make 'em spawn behind you, but for the most part, running with a full team - you CAN eliminate the random spawn points if you want. Just not in free-for-all. There, it's always chaos. :)

As for right and left, normally I use the starting spawn point as a reference, so if I yell out "they're coming down the right side, no matter if we've "flipped" or not - it's the right side as it was when we spawned. I'm not sure most people do it that way though, so I may need to re-think that one. :)

I hope you keep enjoying the game - it's great as long as you accept it has some issues here and there. :) Have fun!

Trust me, when I got this game I wanted to take it back, but as I got used to the gameplay...I started to enjoy it.  It is not a run and gun game.  I think that is why Timmys have a hard time with it.  Get to a spot and patrol an area, keep going back and forth and the spawns will switch on you.  I get cheap kills that way when the other team starts spawning in.

Also, the game is much better when you play with solid teammates.  You can trust that they will most likely win their gun battle so you won't get stabbed in the back.

Good games last night.

While Black Ops 2 was run and gun, this one requires more planning and team work. I think this is why the Timmies are having a hard time with it. They don't have patience and can't stop whining about it long enough to do anything.

I like the change of pace as it doesn't feel like a re hash of the other COD's.

I have it for the 360 but I am thinking of trading in BF4 for it on the One.

Yea was definately a lot more fun when I joined the party last night.

@Dixon,  I was using the Remington R5 but last night I switched to the AK and like it alot better.  I am using the Tracking sight, can't remember what its called but it highlights and tracks targets, and the foregrip.  The AK for me is a lot easier to handle and dosesn't jump all over the place from recoil.   For perks I have whatever the standard set is.  I haven't changed any of them yet but I'm finally stating to build up points for unlocking stuff.

The rest of the loadout is the standard pistol, grenade, and flashbang.

I'd say try the LSAT with a grip and thermal or tracker sight if you don't like the close up zoom.  For being an LMG that sucker has very little recoil.

If you like SMGs, try the MTAR with rapid fire and the last, most expensive perk.  Same with that perk and the Bizon/CBJ, but with no rapid fire.

Actually try every weapon and combo attachment you can until you find what works for you.  There is no 'best gun' for Ghosts.  And as you learn the game and get better what works for you today might be holding you back tomorrow, so don't be afraid to go back to things you have tried before.

For me focus perk really helped. Also amplify if you use a good headset.

Since my initial post I have gotten a lot better at the game.  I have the rounds where I can't hit the side of a barn but in most I can hold my own.   Starting learning the maps which helped a lot.

It sounds like we may live in the same block. I'm been playing Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and just as soon as I get a head shot lined up with a bow, someone gets me with a sword or a rock........I feel your paincrying
