BF4 on PS4

So while Im not actually getting a PS4 (getting an xbone next week), I was wondering how BF4 is going on the new system? Are the 64 person servers good? Is there a real difference in the graphics, or just a more polished look/feel? IS THERE A SQUAD LOBBY, lol?

Just curious how the release has been going and the difference between what Danger Close (or whatever EA calls them now) did and how the main studio did (PC/PS4/XB1 version).

Yep, it was a surprise to me too. Apparently EA bought Danger Close (who was responsible for those awful Medal of Honor reboots), gutted it, and renamed it DICE Los Angeles. But most of the issues came from EA not giving enough development time in order to beat CoD to the shelves. I just hope hope hope that the next gen versions were handled better.

The biggest problem I had was it bombing. It would take a few tries to get into a game. I think it was related to battle log. The PSN itself seemed pretty stable, at least party chat was.

As far as the game itself, plenty of room on servers. I think a lot of folks gave up after dealing with the connection issues. I only played one 64 player map and it was just the group I was in so it was pretty quiete. It was kinda nice being able to get a feel for the map without worrying about my tags. Played some smaller rush maps that were empty when we started but filled to capacity after we got going.  Graphics were good and there really wasn't any performance issues like frame drops for me.

I don't think you can join as squads, at least I couldn't find it. It does give you a list of friends and what server they're on and the chance to join.

Good info, thanks. Yeah, i was kinda expecting there to be some performance issues at first (new system, untested servers, etc...). But its good to hear that when you did get in it worked. Hoping with the extra week of PS4 stress testing, the XB1 launch may be a little smoother. I'll try not to get my expectations too high though, lol.

I must say the difference in graphics from the PS3 to the PS4 is pretty noticeable . Gameplay also much smoother. I haven't been in a 64 player match yet , so far I am liking what I see so far. Look me up would be like to join up with you guys/gals for A few matches.

For anyone who wears galsses/contacts here's an ananlogy for you.  The PS3 looks like I'm playing without my glasses then I put my glasses on and that is what the PS4 looks like.  The crispness and clarity are amazing.  The servers and systems are borked though.  The worst bug is you are playing, hit the touchpad to get into battlelog to invite friends and the game freezes.

Its unplayable for me.I continue to get the "data corrupt" message. I was on battlefields forum and one of the devs stated they are working on a fix. also a new server for the PS4 that will hopefully fix some of the issues.

had this with Killzone.  Ended up deleting the game on the 4 and re installing fixed the problem for me.

Me too on occasion. I will say though that it does play very well. When you do get in, it is pretty sweet for me. I love engineer.

word of advice for PS4 BF4 owners - use the Settings - Application and save data management - save to USB  and save the 19mb BF4 game save to USB stick.

do this Each time you have a un-corrupted Single or Multiplayer session.

The PS4 does have a Sony cloud autosave,  but if you get the dreaded CE 34878 error your save file will be corrupted and the Cloud will save the corrupted version.

If you have your most recent good game save on USB,  you can go into Settings - App and save data management - delete Both the bad console and cloud saves,

then restore your good save from USB.

I've gotten that error so much I catch myself singing Total eclipse of the heart way more than anyone should. I'm getting really good at the campaign seeing as this will be my 5th time restarting.

It is sucky for sure.  Fortunately I've just been playing multiplayer and it doens't really affect me to much.  I just have to set my server preferences up again. I know they are aware of it and are suppose to address it.  I don't blame Dice BTW.  I know EA is slowly killing BF.  It's what they do.

So is there a 2o2p group that plays Battlefield 4 primarily on PS4?  I'm looking for other players to squad up with.  My PSN id is So_Bluntnificent if anybody wants to add me.
