Call out where you are compared to another car even if you think the other guy is aware of where you are. It's hard to always be fully aware of everything that's happening around you. Just by doing this you can probably avoid the majority of all incidents.

On Road Atlanta in the double righthander I was involved in an incident that could have been avoided by calling out my position. I was battling for position, made a clean move, had position but hadn't completed the pass & assumed he knew where I was. I got a small tap on my left rear quarter that sent me into someone else & sent him wide left, right before the long straight. If I would've called out my position this could have been avoided even though I don't think I did anything wrong on track itself.

Including the other persons gamertag may also help e.g. "Skiwi - I'm your left";  during the course of a race it can get confusing who is talking to who, and us wheel users don't have buttons that allow us to do a quick look left or right that a controller user may be able to do.

In real racing I believe being partly alongside is sufficent to "claim" a line; maybe for us we need to be a little more strict and say you must have your whole nose in front as GRD pointed out.

Don't really think we need that level of definition though if we all just play nice but firm.  My 2c worth, knowing full well we will all accidentally make contact at times.

I think you meant 1:34 . . . Cherry BamBam and I were practicing last night at TRM-E and I was pretty sure we were tracking 1:32.

Room B willl be about 1:32+ and I suspect and Room A willl be 3 seconds faster.

yeah, we were at low 1:32's although I'm pretty sure GRD was holding back to make me feel better and give me a false sense of security.... ;)

I'm having some real trouble getting the best from my car at the minute, I'm running a 1:33.xxx for this weeks race in practice but have a feeling there is more in the car (or maybe its just my poor driving). I have used Cobra's calculator and think this is helping as it's brought my time down. Are there any tips for the Audi S4 that i should be aware of? the little thing seems to be really lose exiting the corners and am unsure if i should put on any more rear downforce just in case it causes too much drag on the straights.

happy for any tips or hints :)

I think many people are experiencing similar problem.  The Audi can run faster, by at least 2 seconds I am estimating.

Downforce only helps at med/high speed but that's not when the car needs traction; it needs it at low speeds.  The problem, I suspect, is the car is not getting sufficient mechanical grip at low speeds.

All tracks are cambered/crowned.  This track may have higher crown therefore as you exit the car gets light resulting in loose rear end.  I have not noticed it as much in FWD (Kia, Honda).

Before adding additional downforce I would recommend:

1.  Softer suspension package (springs, dampers, and/or ARB - improved compliance/grip over bumps)

2.  Less aggressive accel differential (more gentle power to the driving wheels)

3.  Lower gear ratios (better grip exiting corners at the expense of slightly slower acceleration)

Im getting into the very low 1:31's (Clean) consistently.  Trying a completely different setup that I think I can get used to however Im going to need more seat time in her.

In gunnys defence though I did label the results as NGTC which is wrong as it's the Jack Sears trophy :/

Hey guys,

I am struggling with my Audi tune and only run 1.34.... Bad driving plus bad tune is terrible. I "played" with the tune I have, but I never find a good direction for a setup. I am not a tuner and my learning curve for that is .... aaarrgghhhh. If my Audi is fast the rear is slipping and sliding. If the rear feels okay, I am too slow.

Can anyone from the Audi drivers gift me his tune, so that I can check and compare the settings?

@Jormvngandr: 42Church is my team (= JDRT) tuner, but his real life is very ...... stressfull. So I need help from others. And because of my poor driving skills,67 this time I can't use the original JDRT-cproracing-tune.

@Jormvngandr: No problem. You don't need to send it, but thank you very much for your will to support! Do you know, that there is a endurance race tommorrow evening? With those GREAT Supercars V8 from Australia. There is a thread, where you can read all about it.  Maybe it is a good chance to make some expereince.
