Halo 3 MLG Comeback - FoF tag signup now on Beyond
Halo 3 MLG is making a comeback :) The MLG playlist population was up to 400 last night and getting matched was pretty fast.

I'm probably done playing Halo 4 for now. If and when modded no sprint gametypes gain popularity it might be worth another look.
I'm not in any way thinking I can hang in MLG customs, but I'm hoping this really gets some steam behind it and people really start to play again. I mean, continued play, not just for a couple of days or a week.
I might step into Social for some games (and then run away after suffering through the random Timmies).
Yeah I hope the Halo 3 hype continues. As far as tourneys go, it's a better game to spectate than 4 and Reach.
I like MLG style Halo (no sprint, no equipment, no explosive barrels) but I know I can't hang in that playlist.
It's official - the next AGL will be Halo 4 on Friday and Halo 3 on Saturday and Sunday. With a $10K prize pool...for Halo 3 :) Roy, Lunchbox, Ogre2, and FiS are coming out of retirement to team for the event.
Maybe the hype train will bring back some of the comp players and we can get some more laid back 2o2p MLG customs going again.

I would be game for some MLG eventually (only a rank 8!), but I need to get my shot back. Social it is for the time being!

You're excellent compared to me for example but you're not teenagers anymore so just accept you are what you are and go into whatever playlist and take your lumps. Trying your best with friends is the most fun you can have. Winning is icing on the cake and you'll take a few. Maybe a lot. There's likely going to be more noobs playing Halo 3 for two weeks than experienced players. After that it's going to get pretty tough to win a match. Many noobs will run away with hurt butts but the wannabe Pros are going to hang out in Halo 3 until the next AGL. Then they will move on to XB1, PS4, BF4 and the newest COD.

The MLG playlist population was 400 last Thursday and over 600 this weekend. Getting matched is fast - faster than H4 so far. Hopefully this will keep up, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts...though I don't see the comp community going back to H4 after this event. H3 is just too much of a better game.
It just comes down to better maps and simpler gameplay. I prefer H4 gameplay and the H4 BR, but the maps and gametypes are so much better in H3. I never cared much for H3s BR. I'm also becoming a fan of sprint. Now that I switched to bumper jumper I love sprinting and jumping across maps.
I have to admit I'm tempted! I would need a twink tag, though, and some patient teammates. I haven't played in months and months and my H3 MLG rank is probably around 40.

The population broke 1000 this weekend. This could be competitive Halo's last hurrah so get it while it's hot.
Interesting to see that H3 is getting some traction. Has been a while since I've played ANY Halo - think I've only played 10 games of H4 or something and haven't been on this site for some time (work has been killing me for past few years). But will try to get on some H3 to check it out. Hope to bump in to some of you old school guys. Hope everyone has been doing well.
You won't. Reach killed us all off and Halo 4 didn't do enough to bring us back, hence the push for Halo 3.
