So, the "X" isn't red; its white.  That means it blends in with some environments.  Also, it hangs around for only a second or two, and it follows the body, which means if you get exploded and fall off a ledge, your callout "on my x" is useless.  I'm really not sure how much more specific the community could have been with this request.

I read something from 343i which indicated the X lasted until that person respawned. Given that's true, you could hold off your respawn when the instant/early option is available. The video Fyrewulff put up showed the X disappearing within a second or two. Hardly worth the bother if it doesn't last as long as the respawn.

In other words, we got the Reach version. In Reach when a teammate died, you saw the white X over the red waypoint marker.

This is assuming I remember correctly.

Yeah, like REACH except for the waypoint marker. The X has already been reported as white. Apparently your ID or GT will remain after the X is gone (new waypoint marker?)

your id and x appear when you die. They are white. The x fades out sooner then the id. total length is around 2 seconds.

Just to repeat.

Quote:

The 3.28.13 Halo 4 Title Update is live. Here is a breakdown of what is included in this particular title update.

•    Enabled “X-Markers” on the HUD to designate when and where teammates are killed.
•    Updated Active Camo to fully  reveal players when they fire all weapons.
•    Reduced the auto aim, magnetism, and damage on the Gauss Warthog.
•    Fixed an issue where some players at SR-130 did not see their specialization on their in-game playercard.
•    Fixed various issues with ordnance nav markers.
•    Fixed various join-in-progress issues with Flood.

I was hoping and praying that a lobby update of some sort was planned.

The H4 lobby is so clumsy - especially coming from what we had in Reach. If there is one thing I miss from Reach, it's the lobby. You could easily see who was online, what they were playing and how much time was left in the game.

I hate sitting in the H4 lobby wondering what my friends are playing and how much time is left in their game. Also, if you are the party leader it's more of a PITA to keep track of who is in your lobby. I mean, everybody except the PARTY LEADER can easily see the party, but the leader has to push the X button.

Oh well, at least they fixed something...*sigh*

Not to get off topic but I agree 100%.  The Reach lobby was the bee's knees!

It was probably the easiest and less costly, not to mention 343 can claim they fixed it.  "Look at our list of everything we fixed in a timely fashion!"  129

I take it you guys would rather see the DMR nerfed than the BR buffed?  I'm not sure where I stand on that one.

I think the BR is fine as-is, as it's really not all that useful at range, at least compared to a LR or DMR.

The biggest tweak I would like to see for the DMR and scoped rifles overall is de-scoping when you get hit.  I would also like a ROF decrease for the DMR, it really is so easy to spam and get kills with since it has such little bloom.

That's ironic, if true. The DMR was highly criticized for spamming in REACH because it had bloom.

i can take or leave de-scoping although i get why people want it added, perhaps a compromise could be if you still have shield no de-scope, but if your shields are gone you de-scope when shot? i dont know im just throwing something out there. i dont have much of a opinion on the rate of fire or bloom on the dmr as i prefer the light rifle over it. my one and only real bitch is how sticky the aim is on the dmr, i think making it less would fix many of the complaints people have.

I think I might just like to see less auto-aim on the DMR, and less spread on the BR.  That would nerf the DMR on average and increase the skill gap a bit, while making the BR=DMR.

Played for hours tonight. X is pretty useless. You have to be looking right at the guy when he dies. X disappears really fast, even if you don't hit instant respawn. Not happy.
