The Great Friends List Purge of '07

I feel bad.


I just did some MASSIVE house cleaning of my Live friends list -- 96 people down to 28.  I imagine that there will be some hurt feelings, especially within my clan, but I felt that my FL had gotten out of hand.  Whenever I'd go to play a game, I was just getting constant notifications that "<gamertag> is online".  Also, it gets hard being spammed with invites all the time.  Sure, I know I can turn notifications off, but there have been times I've forgotten about turning them off and I've missed invites that I wanted.


From a clan perspective, I felt that if I had a handful of clan members, I always knew that I could find my way into a game with all the other people I had deleted.


I expect that I'll add a number of people back to my list once CoD4 comes out, but until then -- if you find that I'm not on your FL, don't take it personally.  I still hope to see you online.

I'm still on the list. The rest of you can suck it!!\r \r Clem, I know what you mean. My list if full, I am keeping the people that generally do the hosting on my list. But then I am the clan overlord for GSN and I am in ASS, 2old2shoot, and 2old4forzatwo. I also have several clanarchy, OMM, and PPC members on my list. then there's real life friends. Then there's a couple of people form arcadecontrols.com.\r \r However, I was at 101 yesterday, today I am at 98...\r \r doscon, actually, Microsoft could get by if they also show friends of friends online. xfire for the pc does this. It doesn't tell you who they are a friend of, just shows that they are online and what they are playing. This wouldn't require any extra database storage, just a new tab to put on guide to query the data.

Sigh, you didn't get the reference. The Pack had back to back super bowls. That killed the fun conversation :(
