1. Halo 3. This blog is not about Halo 3 because Mike the Knife is thumbing down blogs related to Halo 3. But I have to use the phrase "Halo 3" to say that this blog is not about Halo 3. So how will MTK respond?

2. I had my first two "keep my job" interviews yesterday. I felt they went really well. Today, I interview with the Manager of Finance and the Manager of Human Resources. One way or another, I see some heavy drinking in store for me tonight.

Today is the first of two days of interviews during which I will be competing with my coworkers to retain my job during the downsizing.  I got up this morning before sunrise and ran.  HARD.  My previous best pace had been 9:32/mile for 3 miles.  Today, I did 8:41/mile for 3 miles.  I was running angry.  I'll admit that I'm not breaking any land speed records, but considering that 2.5 months ago I was happy to get my pace under 13:00/mile, I'm feeling pretty good.

I see from Soup's and MadWoman's blogs that today is Talk Like A Pirate Day. But what if you're typing instead of talking? You need the Pirate Keyboard:

MikeJames is in my neck of the woods this week for some training and I invited him over to casa de Clem last night.  I feel compelled to share with you all the truth about MikeJames.

1.  He is, in fact, every bit as handsome in person as his blog picture would lead you to believe.

2.  He smells a lot better than his blog picture would lead you to believe.

3.  He really let me down by not telling the pizza delivery chick, "you're hot" -- especially because she was totally hot.

4.  He's pretty skilled at the CoD4 beta, at least by my humble standards.

By now, I was supposed to be "beta testing" Mark Kistler's drawing book for adults by now, which will be published next year (and, Mark says, may contain some of my drawings as examples).  I got an email from Mark saying that he's moving into a new office and getting organized and that I'll begin getting my lessons in early October.  I have a few more drawings that I've done that I'll post between now and then, but I won't be keeping up with my one per day pace.
