And it's...
Country music Friday.
Every Friday, a nearby coworker plays country music at her desk just loud enough for me to hear the twangs of *the* most awful music genre - ever.
Fuck me and my Minnesota nice. One of these Fridays I'm bound to freak out, or bring in an iPod docking station and play angry, hateful music that will offend the cheery grin right off her face.
Oh, and keep sending questions in for the contest. Go to the podcast section of the forum or see my blog below.
Oh my gawd - I think I hear Dolly Parton. I'm fucking dying right now.

You should play this song, infinitely repeated, until she gets the point.\r

The next person that tells me \"you're just not listening to the GOOD Country music- that's why you hate it\" I am going to sodomize with the broken halves of a Public Enemy CD jewelcase.\r

or names like:\r
I Still Miss You Baby, But My Aim's Gettin' Better \r
If I Can't Be Number One In Your Life, Then Number Two On You\r
If I Had Shot You When I Wanted To, I'd Be Out By Now \r
If The Phone Don't Ring, It's Me\r
If My Nose Were Full of Nickels, I'd Blow It All On You\r

Having grown up in the heart of country music fandom, I can say with some authority, there are some country music songs that you can listen to once and think \"That's catchy\". By the third time it grates on your nerves. And I love to watch female country music singers.\r
Counter with Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, and Darius Rucker. Close enough, but you can keep your urban card.
I find much of mainstream, modern country to be mostly pop with a subtle twang. But there is some good stuff out there, and you can always go back in time to find really good stuff. Basically, if I ever meet Bubba in RL, I expect my prostate to be jabbed by his jewel case.\r
\r
In the meantime, I highly suggest a Metal Monday. Or The Dickies.\r
