Street Fighter IV Release Party

The Street Fighter IV Release Party starts tonight at 9 pm (eastern) and Will go until our fingers fall off and blisters put an end to the button mashing mayhem. Warriors Comics Released

So, I was running around town taking care of some errands and decided to drop in one of my local comic book stores to see what's new when I stumbled onto the two books pictured above. I am a HUGE Warriors fan from my childhood and was unaware of this new series. After a little research and some help from my Tweople (friends on Twitter), I also discovered that there will be a new Warriors game release down-loadable via XBLA coming this summer. Once I found this out, I started to write some folks at Dabel Bros. Comics and Paramount Games to get the scoop and see if I could score some SWAG for my 2old2play folks. No word back yet, but I hope to post a full blog about these new media releases very soon, so stay tuned.

2old2remember

Which brings us to our next little bit of community news. In an attempt to help promote more active participation with the Front Page by the members at large, the 2old2play Press Corps is seeking qualified (and not-so-qualified) writers who are interested in penning regular "columns" for our home page. As the Double D's (Dereks) from 2old2type say, "You too can be famous like ATC_1982" by writing some material that will show up on the 2old2play homepage. So if you are interested in participating, please touch base with Drost (http://www.2old2play.com/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=userinfo&usern...) via pm.

To help support this effort, I will be starting a new monthly column called 2old2remember, which will focus on classic gaming consoles, arcades, comics and associated memorabilia. So keep an eye out for this and be sure to let me know what you would like to see me cover in this column.

I remember playing street fighter at the local arcade. It was the original one with only ken and ryu as playable characters. The weird thing about the cabinet was that it didn't have the normal 6 button layout. It had 2 huge rubber buttons. The harder you "smack" the buttons, the harder the punch or kick would be. I was happy when I saw the six button design. I really love the game till this day in all of it's incarnations. I can't wait to pick it up. It's way past due for it to be "upgraded". When I was a little girl, after church, me and my older brothers along with all the other boys from church, would go into this little general store, I think it was a liquor store. Anyway, there used to be Street Fighter arcade machine there and we'd all take turns putting in our fifty cents and forgetting about the lessons we just learned. I always played last though because boys are mean. I'm better than my brothers and I bet 837593847539 times better than the rest of those lame church boys.

With the popularity over the past few years on the console being about Tekken it is surprising that SF made another game and giving the fighting genre more depth.

I picked up my copy yesterday. I will tell you if you are an old school arcade(SF) player with no experience on a console you will not be as high on this game. But if you love playing them on consoles and/or buy the controllers for it you will blow through many hours of playing time. The graphics are sweet.

Capcom is scheduled to sell over a million copies of this game, and with KOF 12 releasing sometime this year its the return of the 2-D fighters!

Yeah! Cant wait for this one. I use to setup fighting tournament. for all the neighborhood kids on Nientendo back in the day.
