As mentioned in a previous blog, I will be starting a new, bi-monthly article on Classic Gaming called Digital Memories that will be featured on the front page. The first Issue is almost in the can and I am very happy to announce that I have secured a great sponsor for the series. SolCalMike from the gaming auction site Chase The Chuckwagon has agreed to offer up some classic gaming SWAG for our members in conjunction with each issue. Mike has confirmed that he will be offering up a really nice classic gaming console and games as the first item in conjunction with this new partnership, so keep an eye on the front page for more information and a chance to win this (sans tv).
Mike runs an excellent site providing an cost-effective and user friendly alternative to EvilBay for those who are looking to buy and sell all varieties of video games, video game consoles and memorabilia of all kinds. So check out www.chasethechuckwagon.com/ and be sure to thank Mike for his support of the 2old2play Community.
More Interviews, Digital Sound Mixing Learning Curve and Upcoming Events
I sat down today with Shota Nakama, Musical Director of the Video Game Orchestra here in Boston, and talked to him about his work with video game music and the current state of music in the industry. I will be speaking with Gerard K. Marino tomorrow in a second interview that will focus on his work with the God of War Series, including the upcoming conclusion to the franchise for the PS3. And finally, I am still working to cull together my interview with Chris DiBari, Principle Artist for the new Warriors comic book. This marks my first attempt at mixing sound in any format and the learning curve is a bit steep, thus the process is taking a bit longer than anticipated. However, I am certain that you will enjoy the end result, so stay tuned.
2old2play LAN Date Tentatively Confirmed
In case you missed it, doodirock has tentatively confirmed the date for the 2old2play Chi-Lan as August 7th. Please keep in mind that the dates and contracts still need to be finalized, so don't make your reservations just yet. Doodi should have everything locked down by the end of next week. For more details and updates, keep an eye on doodi's blog here www.2old2play.com/Blog/doodirock .
Now for the SWAG
Because that is what everyone is looking for, right? To celebrate the release of House of the Dead: Overkill for the Wii, I have two copies of the LE comic book that Sega produced in conjunction with this game release. As always, simply post a reply to this blog if you would like a chane to win a copy.
