This renowned street artist and social Commentator made big news locally recently when he was arrested during the grand opening of his show at the Institute of Contemporary Art here in Boston.I work just down the block from Fenway where the photo of one of Fairey's many urban pieces pictured above was taken. It is both cool and sad that our town attracts so many talented artists and yet seems to want to lock them all up when they make the city a little less grungy.
Video Game Orchestra
This Thursday, video game music will be brought to life through a special performance by the Video Game Orchestra, or VGO as it is more frequently called, at the Berklee Center for Performing Arts here in Boston.The VGO was founded last year to "gain musical respect for the video game industry". I have forwarded an email to the conductor for this organization and hope to be able to interview some of its members soon for this blog. In the meantime, you can check out their website and sample some of their arrangements at www.vgo-online.org/live/ . UPDATE: I have just confirmed that I will be attending the VGO's show next week and doing an interview with the Music Director and members of the Orchestra. Stay tuned for a story on this sometime next week.
