Snowboarding

After my first lesson and 4 hour lift ticket  only one word comes to mind.  OUCH!

Fun but pretty difficult to learn different things.  I have mastered going face first over the board and backside first over the board.  I have also mastered making everyone laugh as they are riding the lift up the slope.  I even got  a "10" for one of my crashes.  I also learned that the Tow Rope is evil.

I strength train and it never ceases to amaze me how a new task like this one taxes muscles you don't use much.  I could bathe in Icy Hot right now.

But I will not let the board and the slopes keep me down.  I will be out there next weekend weather permitting for another lesson and round of bruises.

boarding is so fun I never fell harder in anything in my life including a year of college football as I did the first time I caught an edge and almost knocked myself out good times, it gets MUCH better with time

Stick with it! Some of my best memories have been on a mountain. It definitely gets easier with practice. I go to Indiana every weekend, so if you need any advice on how to tune your board or anything just ask me.

I just rent equipment now. If I or my daughter decide to stick with this than we will start planning for season lift tickets and our own boards, bindings, and boots. I get the seasonal disorder called S.A.D. Snowboarding has the potential to get me outside in the winter which should be a big plus in knocking th SAD back.
