As of my official weigh-in on Monday, I'm 2.6 lbs short of an even 100lbs of weight loss this year.  I weighed myself today and I had actually picked up a few pounds, but I know its water.  I'll get rid of that soon enough.

So far my revamped workout routine is going well.  Really well, in fact.  I'm back to lifting 5 days a week now with reduced poundage and increased reps, and I won't lie...I've had the pump of love after every workout so far this week.  Don't get me wrong, I still have way too much body fat.  I'm no bodybuilder and I still have work to do.  But I'm on my way, and thats what counts.

The shoulder is feeling pretty good.  I ran into a little more pain than normal today while doing shrugs, so that tells me I need to drop the weight there.  Not a problem, I can do that.  I believe that I have fully accepted the mental aspect of the reduced poundage already, and thats huge.  Ego is a funny thing as I've mentioned before...you all know this.  But I believe that I've been able to set aside my ego from the poundage aspect and concentrate on whats best for my program.

I've also upped my cardio to 45 minutes daily, 60 minutes on days I don't lift...which is usually only on Saturdays, but its a quality workout.  My ultimate target weight range is still on-track for this summer.  Once I hit that range (which has a 20lb variance) I will change my diet up a little.  I won't lie...I miss being able to go to BK or Wendys on a whim.  But right now I can't because I need to lose body fat.  Once I do that, as long as I keep the majority of my diet on track, I can deviate a bit more than usual.  I won't obsess over 3lbs here or there because I'll be in my target weight-range.

I won't be skinny.  I could be skinny (ish), but to get to that point would take a lot of effort; maintaining it would take even more.  I've learned to be ok with the idealogy of me being a bit paunchy but fairly well developed from a muscular standpoint.  In short, I'm ok if I have a bit of a belly.  I just want to be able to eat what I want more than once a week lol.

But this week it will happen, I believe it.  I will hit that 100lbs of weight loss mark this week.  And when I do I'll blog about it, and come clean about where my weight was really at.  :)

1Lbs is just under a pound european... you want to lose 100Lbs, say, round about 50 kilo. And average man when considered skinny should be around 70 kilo, a 140, 145Lbs, keeping this in mind and your weightloss target, you prolly were around 250Lbs, a good 125 Kilo. Now you said that you weren't looking to become skinny outright and once again assuming you're an average man being 1m80ish tall (what's that in feet? 5'9"? Anyway, ad 10 to 80 arriving at an optimum weight of 90 kilo (185Lbs) that should be your target...

Thats all skewed, though. There have been "optimal" weight charts, but they are anything but. I am almost 6'4, but I legitimately am big-boned. I really am. "Thin" is something that is not attainable for me. My lean body mass is almost 250lbs, so what that means is without any bodyfat at all I'd still weight 250. Hence, big bones. What I'm going for is "reasonable". I won't be one of those underwear models you come across in magazine ads, with the ripped abs and 4% body fat. What I will be, however, is a stout individual who is healthy and, God willing, will live for several more decades. That is my goal.

Also...1 kilo = 2.205lbs...so do the math there.

100 lbs in one year is very impressive. I need to get that level of motivation for myself to loose at least a 100lbs. I'm in the same size range (6'5) and have always been big. Congrats on your success so far.

Behold difference between Americans and Asians... I'm 1m78 (6'1") weighing 85 kilo (187Lbs). I used to be even lighter as a soldier, prompting the medcare to put me on a diet that would put "meat on my bones". At least your childhood prolly didn't involve being a mannequin to wear dresses your mother was sewing for your sisters XD

No, it involved a drunken father and regular beatings. I don't suspect either one of us came out ahead there. ;)

Nice congrats, 2.5 lbs to go is doable in the time left before the end of the year. That's a lotta work to drop 100 lbs. 'cheating' on the diet once a week isn't bad. It helps keep you from binging and if you're eating super healthy and then have a day of shit food, your body probably just shits it all out as the crap it is  ANyways keep going, hit that 100 mark. That's a hell of an achievement worth more than any Xbox achievement.

Thanks man. Maybe I can figure out a way to get some gamerscore out of this...after all, part of the weight I lost at first was while working out with my Kinect lol. And yeah, I gotta cheat to preserve my sanity. Its usually the Chinese buffet on Mondays. The biggest thing is to do it early in the day and nowhere near close to bedtime, otherwise your body won't break that crap down properly and you just put on weight. @ Habu: if you're looking for some tips regarding what I've done to this point PM me and I can throw some ideas your way. I'm not an expert or a certified trainer or anything, but I have a fairly decent handle on basics.

An early congratulations man. And, despite my teasing you about your fantasy line to the ladies earlier, it would be a smart woman who got in on the ground floor of that. ;)

Congrats! That's a pretty awesome accomplishment already. Here's to hoping you drop a couple extra in time to cheat a little extra over the holidays.
