Shared on Thu, 05/05/2011 - 22:06I think the biggest problem I've encountered with my tv being out for repair is that I recently got hooked on Sacred 2 again. That game is like crack to me once I start rolling with it, and generally once I get into it I go full-tilt trying to come up with the perfect build for whatever class I'm playing. What usually brings me down to earth is that the campaign is so fucking mind-numbing (I've beaten the main campaign probably 2 dozen times by now) that eventually I have to stop because I can't take it anymore. So currently I've been working on what seems to be a very functional TG build. That's a class thats confounded me since the game came out, and I'm thisclose to a working template. And now I can't play it. Ugh.
I finally gave in though and moved my old spare set into action. Its kind of "in case of an emergency break glass" kind of thing, but it works I guess. Well not really, it totally sucks. Its a standard def 24" tube set that makes my eyes hurt and my nuts itch when using it. I mean look at this:
Brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it? It does to mine. Called the repair place today and they had no idea when the set would be repaired, which of course is pretty much NOT what they told me beforehand. Bleh.
So I did the only rational thing one could expect to be done in this situation. I said fuck it and went to Best Buy. I probably need to learn to be more patient, but I was looking for an excuse to buy a new tv anyway and this was good enough.
So this is the tv that I bought:
60" of love in my tiny little apartment. Its going to be delivered Saturday morning. Can't wait. My son suggested I get a 70" set, but then I suggested I'd have to sell him to a 3rd world country to make shoes to pay for it. He decided this would do. :)
Once it gets delivered and everything's set up I'll take a pic.
