Shared on Sun, 10/16/2011 - 08:16A couple weeks ago I blogged about a particularly ridiculous injury I had sustained. Guess what. I think it happened again. Behold:
For reference, thats my upper thigh about 4 inches below my hip. So there you go ladies, a little skin for you! Right, anyway...
That was not there this morning when I left for the gym. I slept in shorts and would've noticed it when I got dressed. The gym session didn't cause it. Its a weekend so its cardio only, I just did 45 on the treadmill and nothing else. I felt no pain, no cramping. As far as I can recall I did not bump into anything or incur any sort of trauma to that area. Its just...there. I last did legs on Thursday and it wasn't anything heavy, so I don't see any way that could have caused this. I did the 45 on the treadmill with ease, no discomfort at all.
This bruise is about 4-5" long. The picture really doesn't do it justice, but I couldn't get a better angle without including my nuts in the shot so just take my word for it. :) You can make out in the lower right-hand side an area thats smallish and red, it almost looks like an insect bite in the picture. THAT area hurts like a motherfucker when you touch it. The rest of it is actually purple and blue...like I said the pic is not that great...but it doesn't hurt at all. Just that one little area to the right. So obviously thats where the injury is.
Now here's the bitch; I'm still out of work so no insurance. That means I'll be riding this sucker out to its bitter conclusion with alleve and alcohol if need be. The other problem I have right now is I don't know if I should continue to work out with this until I figure out what it is. Oh who am I kidding, I'm an idiot. When I destroyed my shoulder the first time out I lifted for almost a year and a half before seeing a doctor even though I knew I was hurt. This is like a hangnail compared to that.
I'll just keep monitoring it I guess. If anyone has any kind of medical background and can throw some advice my way I'd be glad to listen. If not, keep tuning in because if this bruising pools up and slides down my leg like last time I'll take pictures. :)
