Well, let me preface this by saying that my son is fascinated by ninjas. He's been a ninja for the past 4 Halloweens; he's wanted a ninja themed birthday party since he was old enough to say "ninja". I suppose his pre-occupation with ninjas, is partially due to the fact that he was born in Japan, but that's another story. This year for his birthday I asked him what he wanted. Of course he said, "Ninja stuff!" Having enough with the ninja talk (he tells people that he gets up in the middle of the night for ninja practice), I told him I would find some pink "Barbie" ninja weapons. Well, I decided to just wrap his gift in some Barbie paper instead of actually buying Barbies for him, but this was as close as I could get. It worked a little too well, he cried for ten minutes and almost wouldn't even open the present!
I'm such a cool Dad...

Poor kid, lol....I love it. I did something like that to my kids for Christmas one year....they wanted an Xbox and were really excited about maybe getting one. So Christmas morning they are opening all their gifts in the front room and they have clothes, shoes, underwear and more clothes. They were trying to be positive but as more and more presents were unwrapped their happy faces weren't so happy anymore. Finally all presents were unwrapped and no Xbox...they looked so sad but told us thank you and were very polite about it...even though they were obviously disappointed. I told them to go put their things away and meet us in the living room....they did and when they came in there was a big box in front of the tv....they were so excited when we told them it was for them. Inside was the Xbox and about a dozen games.......they were jumping around hugging and kissing us.....it was awesome, lol. I'm a mean Mommy, lol.

Lol! That reminds me of my friends son and daughter gave Dad their Christmas list, his boys hand writing was so poor that when he wrote Gameboy (which he knew his son wanted) it looked more like "Gayboy". So they bought two presents, a Gameboy and a Ken doll-which they hid the Gameboy til after he opened his "main" present. Dad is kewl! Nice one Jt.
