Well, as most of you know, Stacy's dad is suffering from both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, and now to add to that he has septicemia from a urine infection. I haven't posted because frankly, I haven't really wanted to, nor have I had the time. As of yesterday, the decision was made to stop all medications (except pain meds) and allow nature to run its course. This was a VERY hard decision for Stacy to make and it took her a good long while to make it. We are basically expecting a phone call at any moment. almost happened last night as his blood pressure dropped all of the sudden, but it stabilized. It's been a rough month at the house, and believe it or not, not because anything as gone wrong with Megan. She is doing well, as are the boys.

Having said all of this, we went and made funeral arrangements on Friday and I was asked to write a poem for the brochure at the funeral. Now, I have written some poetry in the past, and I am no e.e. cummings, most of it has been in an uplifting tone. This, however, I knew was going to be a difficult task. I prayed about it over the weekend and came up with something, that Stacy and I wanted to share. She said maybe it can comfort someone here on the site, that may be going through the same thing. I pray that it does.

Come to me

“Come to me, my little angel.”

My Savior said to me.

“I know you think there’s more out there,

So much more for you to see.”

“You’re very tired and I know you’re weak,

You’ve been put through quite a test.”

“So, my child, I offer peace,

Please, come to Me for rest.”

“I offer freely, no charge at all

This, a promise made.”

“My sacrifice has secured it all

Your debt, I gladly paid.”

“So now my son, please, worry not

Continue not, the fight.”

“For I am here, your God and King

Never out of sight.”

With these words, I was at peace

I felt a bit at ease.

My Lord Jesus, swift and true

Had come to rescue me.

On my way, to Heaven’s Gates

With angels’ wings, I fly

O my Lord, my gentle Savior

He did not pass me by.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

END OF LINE
