Mash up of a blog

Lots of thoughts running through my head this morning, and no, they aren't all that bad. Let's finish up yesterday. So, we had a not-so-good day. Just when it looked like it could not get worse, it actually didn't. We got an email from the church asking us if we would be interested in a van, equipped with a ramp for Megan's wheelchair (on order), that was donated, for free. Stacy and I have been praying about something like this for a couple of weeks, since we knew the Durango was not going to be big enough to hold her chair, even though it folds up. So, we went to take a look at it to make sure it fits our needs. Well, we were totally astonished at what we saw. It is a 2000 Chevy full size van (Explorer Conversion I think), with a ramp and automatic doors on the side. It looks VERY nice. It has some miles on it, but that's OK, we are only going to use it to go to places where we need her wheelchair. It blows cold air and seems to run quite smoothly. It has the big fat leather captains chairs up front, and the rear seat is nice and cushiony, also folds down to make a bed. It is perfect. The church is going to get the title and let us know when we can actually take it home. Perfect ending to and otherwise dreadful day.

The other thing I wanted to blog about today was my first weekend with absolutely no gaming. It was AWESOME! I got to spend some great, quality time with the kids, especially the boys. I sat with Jimmie and we did a craft that he got to bring home from church, making a prayer chain made of little strips of paper with missionary names on them. Rolled around on the floor with Megan and just had a ball. Not once, thinking of the COD4 Beta, or Bioshock, or any gaming at all. It was refreshing, and I am looking forward to more this week.

And out of no where:

Little Megan was just strolling around the house this morning begging to have her picture taken.

Take care everyone and God Bless you all. Remember those we lost 6 years ago, today, and never forget them as we continue to move forward.

Glad to hear the good news on the vehicle and glad to hear that family time is going great over video games.

Those vans are great. My godmother [cerebal palsy] finally got one last year and it makes even small trips so much easier. Plus my kids think it is really cool. They say "Open sesame!" when we open the door with the ramp. What a wonderful thing for your church to put together for you.
