Shared on Tue, 10/02/2007 - 08:22First off, apologies to Wilderz and BCKinetic, for not being able to make it over the weekend to do H3, co-op. Hopefully, we can still do it this week.
So much happened over the weekend that I wanted to you know about, but unfortunately don't want to write a short story and ramble, so I will break it out into multiple blogs. This past weekend was so great, that I can hardly contain myself. As you know, we had the Music For Megan concert on Friday night. Well, to put it as simply as I can, it was fantabulous. Great music, great food and a great time talking to other parents whose children have this dreadful disease. For those that are not in the know, I will catch you up as fast as I can. My daughter, Megan (NOT the namesake of the concert), was diagnosed with having Mitchondrial Encephalomyopathy, back in May. Since then, we have met a number of parents around the north Georgia area whose children also have a mitchondrial disease. There are a number of them and if you would like more info please go here: www.umdf.org Well, after meeting the Megan whom the concert is named for, earlier in the evening, I knew that night was going to be special. Tears were shed, music was a blessing and overall the experience was one that mere words can not describe. So, I will show you a couple of picture. Note about the pics, the young lady who took them, put her name in the middle of the picture I apologize in advance for that. SoupNazzi, prepare for Niagra Falls my friend.
First pic is of Stacy and Meg, having a great time:

The second picture, pretty much what happened a lot of the evening, is of Stacy and our friend Holly, shedding some well needed tears, looking at Megan's poster. The posters were made as a result of a number of the parents submitting pictures and a short bio of their child. Stacy did an awesome job on the write up. Another tearful moment came at the end of the concert. A young lady, her name escapes me, sang Martina McBride's "Anyways" while a slide show of the kids pictures was being shown on a big screen. I saw Megan's picture and I could not take it anymore...Niagra Falls. I held Stacy in my arms and we shared much needed tears together. That is what the concert was all about, being able to help bear each others' burden, shed tears and, overall, just be there for each other.

I cry as I write this. More to come.
